    UK - April Jones, 5, Machynlleth, Wales, 1 October 2012 #2 *M. Bridger guilty*

This is why the UK should adopt the Amber Alert system

April Jones was last seen playing on her bicycle with friends near her home in the town around 7:30 BST on Monday.

She was seen getting into a light coloured van which then drove off.

I agree that the Amber Alert would be a good idea here....but based on the description of the vehicle would that have helped considering that MB's car doesn't match that at all?

Police are searching the home and garden of April Jones abduction suspect Mark Bridger.

Activity at Mr Bridger's white farmhouse intensified as officers were given until 5pm tomorrow to question the 46-year-old.

Teams searched the rented home and outhouses and forensic officers combed the garden in the hamlet of Ceinws by the Dyfi river in mid-Wales.

Officers also attended a guesthouse where Mr Bridger is understood to have worked recently.

The searches came as police used a news conference to appeal for information about Mr Bridger's movements and use of social media around the time the five-year-old vanished.

April's family also launched a pink ribbon campaign to support the hunt and revealed that the little girl was suffering from cerebral palsy.

At lunchtime, a fleet of canoes was preparing to enter the Dyfi in a fresh look for clues. An underwater search was also undertaken along the river's banks.

Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan said Mr Bridger is being interviewed again today.

He told reporters at the press conference in Aberystwyth: "The investigation continues and our focus remains finding April.

April Jones' sister has made a heartfelt plea for the return of her younger sister.

As the family faced a fourth day of anguish since the abduction of the five-year-old, J****** 16, said: "Knowing April still isn't found is making me sick and knowing someone knows something but won't say it makes me feel even worse.

"I just want our beautiful princess home now - it's been too long."

Her comments came after the family launched a pink ribbon campaign to keep the search in the public spotlight. Pink ribbons have been tied on properties around April's Machynlleth hometown, and people have been urged to wear pink ribbons as a show of solidarity.

Meanwhile, Machynlleth town council has announced an appeal fund for the family.

Councillor Michael Williams said: "Villagers have been calling for this fund to support April's family at this terrible time

Another picture of MB has been pushlished by the Daily Mail here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ing-April.html

Oh dear - I am getting so confused - I really would trust a man with that face! He looks so kind.

I am so afraid now that there is more to this than just MB. Don't the police have enough evidence? Or - perhaps they do, but the police will question, question, question him for as long as they can, because if and when they charge him, they are legally not allowed to question him any more after that

Apart from him not looking like someone who would commit such a crime (which means nothing, I guess), he also doesn't fit the profile for child abductors. I Googled various things and he just doesn't fit - which also means nothing ultimately.

Now that pink ribbons have been introduced as a show of solidarity (because spending all hours in the cold and wet searching for April didn't show that) a fund is now being set up for the family. Surely if a fund is required it is for the search and rescue teams at this point?

Something is amiss and I don't know what.

Vivian Williams Jones, 68, a long-time resident, said the farmhouse, called Mount Pleasant, had been empty for several years before Mr Bridger took it.

He said he knew he had moved to the house about one month ago because the owner came down to rent it out.

“It used to belong to a sailor called Nelson who lived there for years with his mother.

“It was eventually sold to someone from London who bought it as a holiday home and never came down here.

“I saw him about a month ago and he said that it was just too far for him and he was giving it the once-over before renting it out.

“I can’t say I’d ever seen him (Mr Bridger), apart from moving about inside.

“Although it’s a very quiet village, there’s not much that happens that people don’t know about. It’s that kind of place.

“I can’t imagine that she was here. But you never know.”

Friend and villager Carl Utteridge, 76, said he had spoken briefly with Mr Bridger when they were both waiting for a bus several weeks ago.

“He was living here and waiting for a bus into Machynlleth but we didn’t say much. He had only been living here about a month and we only spoke the once. Didn’t say much.”

That is correct as I understand it. The person then has to go to a proper prison on remand awaiting trial. I think he may talk to the police voluntarily, but they may not hold him any longer themselves for questioning.

That's not correct, I'm afraid. However, if the person charged has asked for legal advice the police are usually not allowed to ask any questions until after the prisoner has had a chance to talk to a solicitor. Also, if the police do want to ask further questions, the prisoner has the right to ask for the solicitor to be present during questioning.

The council set it up on the request of many of the villagers, its not that uncommon in cases like this and Im sure the money will be used as required. But I know what youre thinking, thats very cynical at this point

-Police update right now says all searches are continuing regardless of weather tonight.

-Over 2500 new calls have come in, they need to go through every single one.

-Can't comment on whether they're investigating anyone other than MB.
