Thanks, Salem! I'm not sure how beginning one of these really works, but I ask you to please come help if you can.
What resources do we have around Texas? Do we know anyone who has worked with possible religious cult cases?
I've contacted a family member through a friend; hopefully we'll be hearing from some family soon.
My heart breaks for this young man and his family!
I hope some info comes their way to help him come home!
do we know if he has a cell phone that can be tracked?
do we have an idea from his family what the name of the religious cult could be?
I am hoping the family feel comfortable sharing information with WS...
Our WS community is incredible!
I don't have any other information yet. I saw the Facebook link on a friend's wall - my friend is friends with his cousin. I immediately contacted WS and sent a PM via Facebook to his cousin - I'll report the second I know anything more if I hear back!
In the details on his fb page, it says the last confirmed sighting was the 29th at a hospital? I wonder what's led his family to be concerned about a particular cult in AZ?
I looked up Texas cults... And just found old ones... Branch Davidians, etc.
However..I read a small part of an article explaining that Texas is a "good" place for cults because there is so much open land where groups of people may have privacy. (My own words.)
One concern I have is that the term "cult" is a subjective one..
One man's religion may be considered a "cult" by someone else.
Keep us posted if/when you find more information!
You are a good friend to be helping find this young man!

If the cousin comes to read, please let him know about these resources. There may be something there that will be very useful to him and his family in their search for Nicholas.
PS - MNLady - Thanks for catching the MI/MS faux pas heehee.
According to the fb link above, he was found safe in San Diego.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
We are all one poor choice from being a subject on this forum. Think twice.
