Already once convicted for the manslaughter of a teenaged girl, Kenneth William Carr now appears to be under some suspicion of being a serial killer - whose MO is to convince women to kill themselves. He's been charged under a rare law after a women whom he'd been urging to commit suicide came forward to police with ligature marks on her neck, saying he's 'counselled' her to kill herself.

An article on 17 yo Katie Kaminski, the girl Carr raped and strangled in 1997 -- and for whose death he got a manslaughter charge. /wtf/ And clearly, eff-all in the way of adequate sentencing for that horrible crime, if he was out of prison in just four years for taking that young life...

The manslaughter thing is pretty weak, at first I thought what state was this in? Then realized it was Canada.

I know this guy wasn't using the internet but I would say it probably happens (or at least their are serious attempts) online more than one would think. I have come across this sort of thing in my internet travels.

^ Me too. I have never met so many sociopaths as I have on the internet. It scares me, it really does, that there's so many out there. I had no idea...

This case made me think of Charles Manson, for some reason. I guess because he didn't actually kill anybody himself -- he just incited others to kill for him, so he's in prison (hopefully forever). So I wonder if manipulating people to kill themselves is grounds for a murder charge or something like it?

I hope they find a way to take this creep down, before he harms anybody else.

Yeah, there are quite a few, no doubt. I wouldn't be concerned about it though, the vast majority do NOT want to do anything to end up in prison so most are relatively harmless.

Course if you have kids on the internet that is another matter, then again many of the worst online sociopaths are still kids.
