CA - Anaheim, WhtFem Skeletal 22UFCA, 15-19, off Riverside Fwy, Aug'87

    http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/22ufca.html

I'm still looking at these possible matches for this JD, what do you all think?

    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/..._khymbrly.html

    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...kimberley.html

I thought for sure this case would already be being discussed here, but I can't find it, so I posted new. Correct me if I'm wrong and re direct me, thanks.

It looks like mooner123 already submitted Kimberley Kay Kersey to the Doe Network. Doesn't look like he/she got a response, though.

    http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...ghlight=22UFCA

I don't see any previous discussion of Khymberly Scruggs with regard to this Jane Doe. However, there is an extensive discussion of Khimberly's case here: (WS member whereisshe claims to have known Khimberley)

Khymbrly Scruggs Missing 12 Jan 1980 from Sacramento, CA - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Regarding Khymberly as a possible for 22UFCA, there is the chipped tooth that is common to both Khimberly and the UID.

However, the circumstances of her disappearance (scratches on the face of the prime suspect and blood in his home -- if whereisshe's account is correct) suggest that she was murdered close to her home in Sacramento. Anaheim is over 400 miles from Sacramento.

The circumstances are also inconsistent with a woman who died over three years later.

Her height is a bit outside of the UID's height range also.

I sure think Khymbrly Scruggs looks like the jane doe. Especially the high cheek bones. It says that this guy eluded the p.d. for 3 months. If he is the perp, maybe it's possible that he wasn't acting alone and Khymbrly was transported elsewhere. ???? I think it's possible and since she's never been found I wish we could rule her out.

    Jane Doe Namus link:
    https://identifyus.org/cases/7660

    No rule outs listed.

    Kimberly Kay Kersey's page
    https://www.findthemissing.org/cases/4035/0/

Scruggs has no dental records available but Namus says Kersey's records are available and entered. Would the system alert automatically if she matched Jane Doe or does someone have to specifically test them against each other?

CA -Anaheim, WhtFem Skeletal (22UFCA), 15-19, In Grassy Area By Riverside Fwy, Aug'83

    http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/22ufca.html

    Unidentified White Female
•Located on August 30, 1987 in Anaheim, Orange County, California.
    •Cause of death was homicide
•Estimated date of death: About six weeks

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Vital Statistics

    •Estimated age: 15 - 19 years old
    •Approximate Height and Weight: 5'1 - 5'4"
•Distinguishing Characteristics: Long blonde hair and high cheekbones. Slender physique.
    •Dentals: Available. Chipped front tooth (#9). Missing 1, 3, 15, 16, 17, 32. Restorations #14, 18, 30. Caries #13, 19, 31.
    •DNA: Available

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Case History
The victim's skeletal remains were discovered in Santa Ana Canyon near the Riverside Freeway. She was located in a grassy area about 50 feet off of the road. The bones were scattered across an area 50 yards by 50 yards. Searchers found handfuls of blond hair but no clothes, pocketbook, car keys, but no clues to the identity of the skeletal remains.
An autopsy on the woman's remains didn't turn up the cause of death, but defects in two ribs were found, consistent with penetrating stab wounds.
It is believed she is a runaway teen.

I think a good possible is Sandra Lowe: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/11390/8/
    http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/499dfca.html

Matches on distance/circumstances, height, facial features, hair. Time and age are a little off, but I am wondering if because Jane is being handled by OC Coroner and Sandra is being handled by CA DOJ if they have compared dentals between the two.

Her page on the Orange County Sheriff/Coroner website has an additional photo --

Rochelle Marie Ihm seems to fit this Jane Doe most closely.

    https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/3875/0
    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/i/ihm_rochelle.html

Anaheim is a little north of the route one would take from Phoenix to San Diego, but not that far off course.

Since both her dentals, and those of the UID are in NamUs, it would be an easy compare. I suspect they have been compared, and they just haven't put her on the rule-out list.

On August 17, 1989, the Los Angeles Times ran an article about this unidentified young woman --
    http://articles.latimes.com/1989-08-...deputy-coroner
At the time, out of all of the unidentified persons at the Orange County coroner's office, she had been there the longest.

According to the article, the reconstruction was done by Shannon Collis, a San Diego State graduate student in forensic anthropology.

Is it possible to tell if her tooth was chipped in the struggle that resulted in her death or if it was an older injury?

I searched for teenaged females who went missing prior to this girl being found and came up with one fifteen year old with a chipped front tooth. Angelica Longoria went missing from El Monte (Los Angeles County), CA on November 23, 1985. El Monte is about 35 miles from where the UID was found at Santa Ana Canyon Rd and S Gypsum Canyon Rd, Anaheim, CA 92808. A big problem though with Angelica Longoria as a possibility for this UID is she is not a blonde.

Probably if the UID had dyed her hair, it would have been noted as such?

The year is wrong in the thread title, it should be 1987.

I went ahead and e-mailed Brenda Galarza to ask her to check into Rochelle Ihm.

    She replied as follows:
I will go ahead and submit this as a lead on the unidentified as well as Rochelle. It will be sent to our NCMEC Case Managers as well as the investigators on both cases.

I dunno. It ought to, but it seems like unless they find dark roots or something, it doesn't get mentioned in many cases.
Opinions expressed are strictly my own (who else would they belong to???)

I actually submitted Sandra Lowe back in September. Upon reading this I re-sent the email because I never heard anything back and here is what I got back today:

    Hi Jillian,

Yes I did, sorry if I didn’t reply. I did inquire about it, but haven’t heard back yet myself, so I will inquire again.

    Thank you for reminding me.

I heard back from Allison O'Neal at the Orange County Coroner's Office. They looked at Angelica Longoria in the past and have already ruled her out.
