I am trying to trace the Vorm family (Mr. Walton's maternal branch).

His Grandfather Vorm immigrated to the U.S. from Denmark. I found the 1940 census listing the extended family including Mr. Walton's father, Henry Valentine, Jr., and his mother incorrectly listed as "Emma" instead of "Eina". It looks like he had an older sister, Annie, and an uncle, Eldon. He wasn't yet born for this census.

The uncle, Eldon LaCour Vorm, went to Columbia University and was killed in WWII in Normandy on July 26, 1944 as a 2nd Lieutenant.

I am going to research the paternal side of the family and a bit more on Annie Valentine. Maybe others will have more luck with this information!

I did some more digging into the Valentine (paternal) side of the family. I am posting what I found in terms of related family names - maybe a fellow Unclaimed Team volunteer's resources will uncover something?

It seems like the unclaimed's father was an only child and his mother was an only surviving child after the death of the maternal uncle during WWII so I don't know if first cousins are likely here. The only remaining direct relative possibility seems to be the older sister, Annie Valentine, who is mentioned in the maternal Grandfather's (Einar Vorm) census.

Aside from that, it looks like we may have to research relatives extending from the grandparents, either maternal or paternal.

Eina Vorm Valentine died 15th January 1959. This would have made Henry III only 11, maybe that's what caused some family rift?

It's relatively likely Anina and her husband did have children, as married at 13 in 1953 does seem to hint at pregnancy.

AHA! Result. I can't find any more news of Anina, but I've found her husband remarrying on June 26, 1956 to a Patricia Ann Snow. https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1971-29895-40239-76?cc=1804002&wc=M9MJ-Q52:n2102673103 It says he's divorced, so Anina was alive at least in 1956...

Okay, I can find JPH divorcing Patricia Snow in 1976. Then possibly in 1977 again before divorcing in 1984. I'm having trouble finding any children for JPH and Anina, two possibilities are a Mark and Karen Hamilton born in 1953 and 1955, but only because the surnames of parents match and the birth dates are possibilities.

Have hopefully found the nephew of the deceased, PMed to Raine.
