I was going to post this on Whiteblaze.com, a popular website for AT hikers, but somebody already beat me to it. The East Pennsboro shirt makes me think he's a local, however.

This article from PennLive seems to cover exactly the same information. Posted for completeness.

Police may know ID of found body

State police said they may have the identity of a male whose body was found by a hunter Thursday near the Appalachian Trail and Route 443 in Union Township.

On Sunday, Trooper Erica Miller said police believe they know the identity of the male based on items that were found at his campsite. She said they are waiting for the results of a dental-records examination, which would take several days.

Miller said the male died several months ago. The body was badly decomposed, she said.

The body is of a white male between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall.

He was found inside a green camping tent. The tent, hiking shoes and some other items may have been purchased at the Bass Pro Shop store, police said.

Also found were two orange T-shirts with black lettering. One of the shirts has "East Pennsboro Soccer" on the front and the number "1" with "JU-YA" written on the back. The other T-shirt has several three- and four-digit numbers on it, along with a crescent moon and the words, "Swinging Thru the Night," on the front of it.

The body was found a quarter-mile northwest of the Appalachian Trail and a half-mile southwest of the intersection of routes 72 and 443.

"There was no sign of foul play," Miller said.
