Eric Bodenweiser, a former Republican candidate for the Delaware state Senate with ties to Christine O'Donnell and the Tea Party, was indicted Monday on charges that he sexually abused a child.

Bodenweiser, who suspended and then ended his campaign earlier this month, was indicted on 113 felony charges, including 39 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and 74 counts of unlawful sexual contact, according to The News Journal. Bodenweiser is currently being held pending bail on charges that he sexually abused the victim between 1987 and 1990. ......more at link.....

With something like this in his closet why would he even put himself out in politics?

June 2014:

Almost two years of lead up to the trial, and over two weeks of trial, have ended in a mistrial, after mere hours of deliberation on the part of the jury who heard the case of Eric Bodenweiser, due to a hung jury...

When an indictment was handed down by a Delaware grand-jury the case seemed to hinge on the accusations made by the alleged [10 year old boy] victim. A victim that the defense attorneys for Bodenweiser went to great lengths to discredit. However the real bombshell of the trial may have come from Eric Bodenweiser’s own pastor, who was the first person to testify in the trial.

Pastor Duane Smith testified that after the charges were brought against Bodenweiser, Bodenweiser came to Pastor Smith and confessed, “I did it”. ” There is some truth there to what he is saying.”..

One has to wonder will the victim now move to sue Bodenweiser in a civil case, since there is now a confession under oath that Bodenweiser watched with, and or supplied pornographic material to a child.

June 2015:

When he pleaded “no contest” in March to two counts of unlawful sexual contact and was put on probation, Bodenweiser didn’t admit to sex crimes, only that he would not fight the state’s accusations.

Authorities have since charged him with violating probation because he has refused to to speak candidly about his crime, both in a lie detector test and group therapy sessions ordered by corrections officials.

Bodenweiser, on his lawyer’s advice, has asserting his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination because he fears being charged with perjury over his trial denials. Bodenweiser’s stance has set up a legal battle with constitutional implications for Delaware.
