Here is the thread on RSOs.

You can link to RSOs in the area. You cannot sleuth them other than what is listed on this thread. If you have a question about a particular case and a particular RSO and what can and cannot be posted in depth you can post your question for administration on this thread.

((please note: questioning of what can and cannot be posted and moderation questions should not be placed on the general discussion thread. I hope that helps. If anyone has a further question please pm a moderator or administrator.))

New Thread - everyone, please take a minute to review the rules and etiquitte right here: [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=159"]The Rules - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

REMEMBER: We don't sleuth or disparage or insinuate about family UNLESS LE or MSM give us reason to. If that happens, the mods will let you know.

ALSO - we don't post random pics of people on facebook. We DO NOT involve the innocent in these horrific cases.

Sometimes you might stumble across something that you think is pertinent, but is against TOS to post. If that happens, the best course of action is to make a note of it and keep it UNDER YOUR HAT. Don't post here. Wait to see if the parametersof the case change so that the info does become important. If in doubt, contact a Mod for help.

    Thanks,

    Salem

    Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

    MOD WARNING:

Any further discussion of ANY member here is going to result is a loss of posting privileges for a week.
This hysteria and WILD speculation is utterly ridiculous and RUDE. I've watched perfectly innocent people, (members in good standing here!) be alluded to (sometimes outright, other times more thinly veiled) as a possible perp for weeks now and hoped folks would calm down.
Patience is officially gone. There is little I feel so strongly about as this.
    STOP IT NOW. Zero tolerance.

There was a spot in the hall coat closet that you pulled up the carpet. There were about 3 stairs going down to a tarp covered floor. "Walls" were tarp covered dirt with dirt exposed in some places. The height was about 3 feet...maybe not quite that. I know I could sit up but had to crawl around. It really freaked me out back then and I used to think how someone could keep someone down there and no one would ever know...Anyway, other type I have seen is from a full basement, there is a small door in the wall. You'd need to hoist yourself up to get in but then it's about the same height but elevated somewhat. Also, unfinished with tarp or dirt floors and walls.
Not trying to get all complicated but here in California we have "raised foundation" houses which I always thought were kind of the same as having crawlspaces. Apparently not from what I've read here, but anyway the "crawlspaces" I've seen were mostly accessible from indoors only and kept locked. The "raised foundations" I've seen/lived in meant basically the house was a few feet off the ground and you could get around underneath it if need be to say run cable, check plumbing, etc. To get in from outside means unbolting a fairly sturdy locked window thing, and the only way to get into the house from the "raised foundation" area would be sawing through the floor, or I suppose pushing through the floor for the super-strong. "Basement" to me = at least a crude concrete floor/sides, and somewhere safer to hide in a hurricane or tornado. Celllar, IIRC from living on the East Coast for awhile fit more into what I picture as a "basement" but apparently I've lived in California too long because now I just picture a bunch of aging barrels of wine.

In any case... OTHER than the crawlspaces mentioned earlier where the access is from inside the house only, the others seem like odors would be so noticeable from outside. Inside who knows - it's probably sealed off better, add in someone with a weak sense of smell, I can see something inside being less noticed possibly.

(Sorry for the bad quoting job! Trying to bring it over from the old thread, just realized I posted this after it was closed. I hope it carries over ok.)

No footage -- this was a juvenile court hearing -- only MSM descriptions of what occurred by eyewitnesses.

In case anyone missed it-this report from late last night states there is now a gag order in place and investigators spoke to Sigg early in the case and his home was searched during a neighborhood canvas.

why would someone who was interested in all the stuff AS was, especially CSI stuff, leave DNA on the school bag and leave his cross?

Did he want to get caught?

    Just curious, why?

In a hurry, only 17 and thinking like a 17 year old?

I do not think he wanted to get caught, he was just getting started.

Don't know if there was DNA on the backpack, but it is very possible.

I'm guessing there was DNA on the remains and obviously on the cross.

He probably thought he wiped down the cross (if he left it on purpose and not accidentally lost it), not knowing wood is porous and wiping is useless.

He may have tried to clean the remains, but that is easier said than done.

The clothes may have had some DNA from him removing them if he did not wear gloves the entire time.

But yeah, The Farm is right. Thinking like a 17 year old, in a hurry, scared and sloppy for someone that may have learned about DNA and crime scenes. I really think he had not learned enough yet too.

Unless I have included a link, it is my opinion and only my opinion that I am expressing.
