CO - attempted abduction in Parker, Colorado.

Police are looking for a suspect involved in an attempted abduction of an 8-year-old boy in Parker Sunday afternoon.
Officers said a man tried to lure a child into his car in the Canterberry subdivision near the 2300 block of Broadmoor Drive at 2:34 p.m. Sunday. The child was reportedly approached by a white male who told him to get into his vehicle which is described as a black four-door sedan, according to police.

creating a thread for this case discussion... It would seem the arrest of Jessica Ridgeway's killer has not stopped other predators from attempting to Kidnap children. Looks like there is a pretty good description and photo of the car and hopefully this person will be caught soon.

fyi: this thread is for discussion of this attempt: not the Jessica Ridgeway case. Thanks everyone.

How many attempts on boys is this area now? The 14yo and the two 8 or 9yo's plus this one, any others?

A black car? We had one of those in Utah too... last week. 9 hours away from this one in Colorado.

I haven't decided how I feel about this one yet, definitely didn't think it deserved it's own thread... but it's the next state over from Colorado.

Police aren’t calling it an attempted abduction,
but they say they’re doing some extra patrols of the neighborhood.
Mount Mahogany Elementary is also going to be putting out a call to all parents to be on the lookout for a suspicious man in a black sedan.

34 miles between Parker and Arvada, CO. I wonder if the cases are related to the "CandyMan" attempted abductions? IIRC, CandyMan in Arvada drove a dark blue sedan.

Quoting myself because I see the pic of the suspected car on this case- definitely black and I don't even think children would confuse black with royal blue. Hmmm. What is going on in CO?

    Misunderstanding in Parker attempted abduction.

    http://kdvr.com/2012/10/29/police-at...understanding/

Guy turned himself in. He was delivering something and needed direction and asked passerby who happened to be an 8 year old. Boy told parents who called the police.

Hoping they all including police told the boy and parents they did the correct thing. People will have to realize you can't stop a car and chat up children. It may have been completely innocent and then again there could be another missing child.

    Sad, isn't it?
Bless the beasts and the children
For in this world they have no voice,
    They have no choice.

Iíve gone to look for myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

It truly is Gran. We have to worry our heads off, but justifiably.

If that link is right and the cops know for sure it begs to ask????? How do we know that someone truly isn't just innocently asking a question to a child? Hey, I was raised on the premise sadly enough "better scared then dead". However, I know we can't raise kids like that.

Also, back in the day I mean how many times did some freak follow us and expose themselves and worse. It got real bad in High School as I went to an all girls school. I mean it got to be we'd jeer them sick creeps. Looking back God forbid we should have reported it.

End of story people out there don't be asking kids anything if you don't know them. Then again if I see a child in distress I'd have to check on them.

So, let's review this new Utah one.
9 year old girl claims she was almost abducted on the way to school.
So... the logical response to that is??

Let's do an interview with her...
Let's release her picture and her (unusual) name.
You know, in case this was a random attempt... if the guy wants to really get her he can look her up and go to her house??
    WTF?
