Can a Brit clear up something mentioned in the police release? By 'blue dressing gown' do they mean what an American would call a bath robe (tie in the front, worn OVER pajamas or when stepping out of the shower) or would this be your term for a hospital-issued patient gown (you know, ties in the back and is totally embarrassing to wear?)

I have no idea how accurate this is, as I'm not British, but this link of British words/slang says it would be a robe to us.

So, the outfit he is wearing the the pic in the OP, along with a blue robe.

So, if he has a robe, then he was either PLANNING his stay in the hospital and took it with him - OR - someone visited him in the hospital and brought it to him.

Dressing gown in is the same as a bath robe.

Search for Graham Roskell enters tenth day

    http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/...articleid=9988

    12 November 2012

Specialist officers from North Yorkshire Police have been scouring woodland as the search for missing Harrogate man Graham Roskell entered its tenth day.

Mr Roskell, aged 65, from Kirk Hammerton, was reported missing from Harrogate District Hospital, where he was receiving treatment for an infection that had spread to his brain, on Saturday 3 November 2012.

Despite extensive searches since Mr Roskell was last seen on CCTV leaving the hospital he has still not been found.

Specially trained police officers searched through thick foliage at Ribston Big Wood earlier today (13 November) and also returned to search the grounds of Ribston Lodge.

Officers have also continued to follow up sightings of Mr Roskell in and around the Harrogate area and police are encouraging members of the public to keep reporting any information that could help with their enquiries.

Inspector Dave Hall, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "Clearly this is an extremely difficult time for Mr Roskell's family and any information that could help us get him back to them would be greatly appreciated.

"If you think you have seen Mr Roskell, please contact the police. If you haven't checked your shed, your barn, or any other outbuildings you may have, please check them now."

Posters have been put up in shops and local business in the Harrogate area and North Yorkshire Police's partners are also supporting the search by displaying posters in libraries and other council buildings.

Mr Roskell's family have set up a website to help the search effort, which can be accessed at www.findgraham.co.uk

Mr Roskell is described as white, 65-years-old, 5ft 11in tall, with a medium build. He has greyish white straight hair, and although he was wearing glasses when he was last seen he doesn't need them all the time.

When he was reported missing Mr Roskell was wearing black leather lace up shoes, olive green trousers and a cream and green horizontally striped rugby style top. He was also wearing a black wrist watch, and was carrying a navy blue fleece knee-length dressing gown that was rolled up.

Anyone with information that can help officers locate Graham Roskell is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for Harrogate police.
