NY - Richard Jones -23 - Buffalo - 22 Oct. 2012
"BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A local airman disappeared without a trace and his family is desperate to find him. A local mother said she thought he was just leaving their home for a minute and would come back. When he didn’t, and failed to show up for reserve duty weeks later, the family really started to get concerned.
Senior Airman Richard Jones, 23, was last seen leaving his home on Herkimer Street, near Lafayette Avenue, on October 22nd. Now his mother Mildred Jones has started a grassroots effort to find him.
She says her son is dedicated to his work with the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station’s 914th Airlift Wing, so when he didn’t show up for duty, his family started to worry.
Mildred Jones said, “He's in the reserves. He goes every other weekend. He's faithful about doing that. So that's when the concern came, when he didn't report.”
Mildred says Richard showed some bizarre behavior leading up to his disappearance. He was growing more reclusive, spending more time in his room.
“He said he didn't want nobody in his room. He was looking kind of bizarre, you know,” said Mildred.
She feels he is alive, but has no idea what might have happened. “I'm not sure. I just want to find him. I'm not sure. I just want safe return of my son. I can't even say,” said Mildred.
Richard Jones is 5’9” and 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a back pack and Beats headphones. If you know anything, you are asked to call the Buffalo Police Confidential Tipline at 847-2255."

""I just want him to come through the door. That's all. This is horrible, a horrible feeling," cried Mildred Jones.
It's probably the biggest wish Mildred Jones will ever have, a wish that her 23 year old son Richard Jones will come home.
Richard is a Senior Airman with the Niagara Falls Air Reserve station. He lives with his mother in her Herkimer Street home in Buffalo but the last time Mildred saw her son was more than two weeks ago on October 22nd.
"I keep praying and asking for visions...and believe that he's going to be alright. That he's coming home," said Mildred.
Mildred's grandson and Richard's nephew look at pictures of their loved one wondering where he could be. Looking back Mildred says her son had been acting strange in the days leading up to his disappearance.
"He would stay in the room and sometimes he get so quiet I would say Richard, Richard and he'd say hmmm," Mildred explained.
Richard had been dealing with a series of events over the past year. He lost his job as a telephone collection agent and had been collecting unemployment. Then he lost his car. He was also coping with the death of his father in April.
But one thing Richard never missed was his mandatory monthly training drills at the 914th Airbase.
When he didn't show up to the scheduled training last Saturday, November 3rd, Mildred got a sick feeling in her stomach.
"Every day is harder and harder. Everyday I wake up and he's not here or I don't hear anything from him, it hurts worse and worse. It just hurts so bad," she cried.
The Niagara Falls Air Reserve station says Richard was in good standing with the base and he did show up to the October monthly training.
The Buffalo Police Department is asking for help finding Richard. If you have any information contact them at 716-851-4444."I changed my avatar.

"Dozens of fliers have been circulated and posted across the region as a Buffalo family seeks a missing member of the Niagara Falls Air Force Reserve’s 914th Air Medical Staging Squadron.
Senior Airman Richard Jones, 23, was last seen about 11 a.m. Oct. 22, when he said he was headed to a corner store near his family’s Herkimer Street home, near Lafayette Avenue.
He only recently missed his first Reserve unit session since joining the Air Force unit about six years ago, his mother, Mildred Jones, told The Buffalo News on Wednesday.
She said her son had only recently taken up drinking, “which was something he couldn’t handle,” and left a job with a Buffalo management company. He also had become more reclusive, she said.
The family also has been unable to reach Jones on his cellphone and recently learned it’s out of service because the bill hasn’t been paid.
Jones is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and about 140 pounds. The Jones family asks anyone with information about the missing airman to call the Buffalo police confidential tipline at 847-2255."I changed my avatar.
