CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - It's been five days since anyone has seen or heard from Dana Wilkes.
The 48-year-old's son discovered her car, abandoned not far from her home.
Her purse and medication were left behind.
Her family is fearful something may have happened to her.
"When I was putting up the flyers, I had to stop and look at them," said 22-year-old Robert Boulware, one of Wilkes' two sons, "because that's my mom, and it says 'missing'."
Robert Boulware and his aunt have put up hundreds of flyers.
Each one noting diabetic Dana Wilkes' dependence on insulin.
"There's no way she could go this long without her insulin," said Yates.

Boulware went to his mother's home to check on her, after she didn't show up for work Saturday.
    He found the doors unlocked.
Wilkes' purse and insulin were on the nightstand.
Hours later he received a phone call. A friend spotted his mother's car on the side of Wilcox Boulevard. He spotted it parked outside the Wilcox Tunnel.
"There really wasn't anything to cause alarm, which is why I was kind of puzzled," he said, standing where the car was found. "She should be here."
Items found inside the car lead the family to believe Wilkes wasn't alone.
This isn't sounding good. Another missing blond woman in TN.

BTW, Dana is 4'11" and weighs 100 pounds.

Wilkes had a special bond with her patients at the Dialysis Clinic on East Third Street, where clients say she was always looking for someone to help.
"I came to her and was telling her about some problems I was having with my family," recalled Johnny McRobey, "she helped me to deal with it."
Johnny McRobey receives dialysis weekly. He may have been one of the last people to talk to Wilkes.
He says she was on her way to Walmart to fill a prescription.

I hope Dana is found soon. I feel so bad for her sons, how sad to have to go through this. I could not imagine the sleepless nights and worrying they must be going through.

There's another Facebook page for Dana put up by her sister:

    https://www.facebook.com/permalink.p...57918890900403

According to her sister, Dana spoke to her mother at 11:15 p.m. on the 9th and was about to go to bed. A neighbor said he thought he heard Dana leave at 11:30 p.m. Her boss and coworkers called LE the next morning when she didn't show up for her 5:30 a.m. shift.

Sounds like Dana made it home from Wal-Mart. Did someone follow her home? Or did she leave on her own? Her house was unlocked when LE went to check on her.

Here is a map showing the location of the Wilcox Blvd. Tunnel:

I can't find an address for Dana, so I don't know how far that is from her house. There are three Wal-Mart locations in Chattanooga and all have pharmacies. I don't know which she would've used - if she did go to pick up a prescription - since I don't know where she lived in relation to the tunnel (and assuming she would use the one closest to home).

there doesn't seem to be a lot of houses on Palo Verde; there are some duplexes.

if i recall, the first reports say her neighbor heard her leave around 11:30 PM. Dana supposedly spoke to her mom at 11:15 and said she was getting ready for bed.

It would be interesting to here the neighbor's story....

Thanks, scorekeeper! Here's a revised map showing an approximate location of Dana's home, the Wilcox Blvd Tunnel, and the nearest Wal-Mart:

    http://goo.gl/maps/L3tZK

If that is the correct Wal-Mart Dana went to pick up a prescription and someone followed her home from there, her car was found in the opposite direction. But, that wouldn't be so unusual for a perp.

I took a virtual tour of the outside of that Wal-Mart and it doesn't look like the pharm is drive-through. Hope LE will get surveillance tapes from 10:00 - 11:00 p.m. on the 9th and see if anyone appeared to be following Dana as she left the store or was near her car in the parking lot.

    Ok, I am puzzled.

The son checked mom's house after she didn't show up for work, finding her car missing but her purse and frequently-needed insulin left behind.

Hours later, someone spots mom's abandoned car. He drives over to check it out and on the scene says he's puzzled because there isn't anything to cause alarm?

Is he in shock, traumatic shutdown, in denial, am I not understanding something? I would have been thoroughly alarmed to find her car gone with purse (drivers license?) left behind. And after that many hours, the insulin she needed had also been left behind. So I would have been alarmed way before her car was even found, yet he wasn't alarmed even AFTER her car was found abandoned?

I'm surprised that she would go to get a prescription that late at night. Inside most stores that are open 24 hours a day, the pharmacy usually closes around 9 p.m. or even before. Most cities only have one all night pharmacy in the whole city. Also, why go for a prescription that late at night? I've very concerned for this lady, especially being a diabetic without her insulin. And if she was going to the pharmacy for medicine, wouldn't she take her drivers license and purse? And why would she abandon her car? I just hope this lady is found safe and the mystery solved in a way that makes some sense. Too many women and children, even young men, are going missing these days. Its very scary. And especially scary how hard it is to find them and how some are never found at all. And so sad that many are found dead.

Johnny McRobey receives dialysis weekly. He may have been one of the last people to talk to Wilkes.

from this article it seems she was going after work to fill a prescription. She was to be at work at 5:30 in the mornings, so she would have went to walmart early afternoon (perhaps before she went home???). Hopefully, they are reviewing the video survelliance tapes.
