DNA of executed killers sought for solving cold cases

Interesting article, thanks for posting it Winward1. It's always baffled me why an executed prisoners rights extend past death with regards to DNA in a national database. I'd be very interested in someone explaining if they have the legal knowledge. Maybe a verified lawyer?
Aside from that, I think it's a great idea which can give many families closure even if the perp can no longer be brought to trial.
I would love to see this done for Tammy Zywicki's case. I wonder what it would take to get Lonnie Bierbodt's dna into a data base.~JMO~
