katy, so very true. We had a beautiful female German Shepherd growing up and no lie I bet she could have babysat us. The male was another story. Both wonderful dogs.

Way to go James Irvine. God forbid there had been a fire.
 
I hope this means the mom called the police on this sorry excuse.
 
Fla. police: Man left baby in pit bull's care

PALM COAST, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man is charged with child neglect after allegedly leaving his 10-month-old baby in the care of his pit bull while he went to a bar.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old James Irvine of Palm Coast was arrested early Saturday.

It worked out OK this time since the doggie was not dangerous but we've all heard of dogs killing children...besides it is against the law to leave a child this young unattended by a competent human being who knows how to care for a child and what to do in an emergency.
He was just lucky but still stupid....
