L.A. man shot dead outside boarding school near Central Park
NEW YORK (AP) — A man walking down a street outside a school near Central Park was shot in the back of the head on Monday and lay mortally wounded in a pool of blood as his killer escaped with a getaway driver, police said.

The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. outside the Saint Thomas Choir School, a small boarding school for young boys on a fairly quiet street between busy avenues teeming with tourists and shoppers.

The gunman, wearing a dark coat with a dark hood and khaki pants, came up behind 31-year-old Brandon Lincoln Woodard, of Los Angeles, and fired what appeared to be a silver semi-automatic pistol, striking him once.

Cops said Woodard was killed with a weapon that ballistics determined was also used in a 2009 shooting in which two men riddled a St. Albans, Queens, house with bullets. No one was hit.

Then there’s the connection to a gruesome killing in Queens, an ambush in which three men who had been at a Brooklyn shindig thrown by a local party planner were sprayed by 63 bullets from an AK-47 as they sat in a car. A cell phone police tracked in the Woodard killing is registered to the party planner who hosted that event, a source said.
Cops got the license plate number as the sedan went through the Midtown Tunnel shortly after Woodard’s murder.

bbm, is that normal? one way ticket to the place you visit?

Were the cell phones old cell phones or relatively new?

Somewhere I came across a suggestion of a link between Brandon Woodard and Joseph McStay (missing with his entire family).. maybe in the McStay thread. It is thought they were lured.
Also somewhere there was a suggestion of a link between Woodard and/or his mother and Thomas Wales (a murdered white collar crime prosecutor or investigator.) Any thoughts?

I read somewhere the ticket was round trip. Is there any confirmation of the one-way ticket?

The sedan went through the tunnel deliberately, so the license would be read. Was the car ever missing from the woman who had it? Perhaps the hit planner switched license plates, prior to the hit, then switched them back afterwards.
