Blanford was carrying a cellphone at the time, but did not answer calls, the report said.

His coat and cellphone were found at a nearby store.

Any more info on his personal life/days before he dissapeared? I hope he just needed to take a walk to escape his life for a little bit and clear his head, I'm sure his daughter misses her dad and I hope he comes back soon...

Not many people live in Hansville, right on the Puget Sound, pretty rural, Kingston is pretty close by which has a ferry. Also LOTS of dense forested area around and very cold water in the sound and looks like the area he went missing from was right near the water, lots of houses located "on the beach" but many may be "summer houses" left unattended for winter - I hope someone spotted him.

Blanford has a history of despondency, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
    There is no vehicle involved.

The sheriff's office initially said the coat and cellphone Blanford was carrying were found at a nearby store. The two items were found inside a vacant cabin near the Norwegian Point Park, Wilson said.

According to the map..its .8 miles to the cabin where his coat was found. OR a straight shot through the woods. OR...theres Adler Wetland Trail.

I'm wondering if he's in that big patch of woods between his parent's house and where his coat and phone were found. Or maybe he's in a vacation home that isn't being used. There doesn't seem to be many choices to be when you're on foot.

Maybe I'm just hoping he's just hanging out somewhere....

It can be very depressing and hard during the winter months in Seattle. I hope Brandon just needed to get away for a little while....and not possibly harm himself.....his daughter needs him. It's so devastating to me when people feel at the end of their rope and like nothing can get better unless they "walk away from their lives" and into the cold forests and waters of WA. I don't know how well LE tries to recover these people but I can see how it could be difficult, you can only search so much and with a town so small and mostly uninhibited during the winter I really hope someone saw him somewhere.

Officials suspend search for missing man

HANSVILLE — A search for a missing Bremerton man, last seen in the Hansville area, was called off Friday when no sign was found of 36-year-old Brandon Lee Blanford.
Authorities conducted unsuccessful ground and water searches on Wednesday and Thursday, Wilson said. The search was expanded Friday to locations that could not be reached from land.

"We have not come up with any leads to say where he might be," Wilson said. "We have not closed the case, but we have suspended the search."

I totally agree with you here nxnw. If you want to "disappear"...Washington is the place to come. Not exactly something youd want to put on a postcard, but true none the less.
There are SO many ways to just vanish here...the ocean, the mountains and the cities.
