A 22-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the high profile death of a 66-year-old millionaire who was tied up and then killed at his sprawling villa in Monte Sereno, Calif. last month.

The woman, Ravel Chanel Dixon, was arrested Tuesday for a separate crime – offering sex, drugs or money to an undercover cop. On Friday, Dixon, of Alameda County, Calif., was charged with “accessory after the fact” in the Nov. 30 killings of Raveesh Kumra, an investor who owned Western Cellular Management. Kumra is best known for owning Mountain Winery in the 1990s.

Police released a statement Friday saying they do not believe the homicide was a random act of violence..............

Rani Kumra told police she believed perhaps three or four people had entered her family's massive home on Withey Road. She said she and her husband were bound at about 1:30 a.m.

Police have not explained how her husband was killed. Kumra was Mountain View’s first homicide victim in 40 years.

Also unclear is just who killed Kumra. Dixon is not being charged directly with his death, and a sketch of a possible suspect in the case was released by Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police shortly after the homicide.

The suspect was described as a skinny Latino or white man, in his early 20s and standing about six feet tall, with black hair and a light complexion.

Documents are sealed in Dixon's case, and a spokesman for the District Attorney's Office said prosecutors will not comment further.

It's interesting how often a stripper or prostitute is involved (not with the actual murder perhaps, but just in the storyline somehow) with murder cases.

Katrina Fritz, on the stand for a second day as a prosecution witness in Santa Clara County Superior Court, said that murder defendant Marcellous Drummer asked her if the victim had gold at his home prior to the robbery and later told her things that tied him to the crime scene.

Drummer is on trial separately from co-defendants DeAngelo Austin, who is Fritz's brother, and Javier Garcia, in the slaying of Raveesh Kumra, 66, the former owner of a Saratoga winery...

Fritz, who was also charged in Kumra's murder, pleaded guilty on Sept. 15 to charges of robbery with gang enhancements and false imprisonment, avoiding murder charges, to get a sentence of at most 17 years as part of plea deal for her testimony against the three men.

An Oakland man was sentenced Friday to life in prison and two additional potential life terms in the 2012 murder of millionaire tech investor Raveesh "Ravi" Kumra.

Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Michele McCoy handed down the sentence for defendant Marcellous Drummer in the choking murder of Kumra and the invasion and robbery of Kumra's three-story home on Nov. 30, 2012, according to officials.

The judge also sentenced Drummer, who belongs to an Oakland street gang tied to home-invasion robberies, to concurrent terms of 15 years to life for the home invasion and 11 years to life for robbery and false imprisonment of Kumra and his ex-wife, Harinder Kumra.

The ringleader of a home-invasion robbery that ended in the slaying of tech millionaire Raveesh "Ravi" Kumra in tony Monte Sereno over three years ago was convicted of murder along with another conspirator, authorities said.

And as a result of testimony given during the trial that led to guilty verdicts Tuesday against DeAngelo Austin and Javier R. Garcia, prosecutors and police are seeking more suspects in the Nov. 30, 2012 killing...

Austin, the ringleader, faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, and Garcia faces a mandatory sentence of 25 years to life in prison...

The convictions Tuesday account for the remaining defendants currently charged in the death of Kumra, who suffocated after being gagged and bound in Monte Sereno's first homicide in three decades.
