It sounds like he was moving WITH his family - and he failed to show up? Is that how you all read this?

So it makes you wonder if it's voluntary - or if he's run off the road somewhere - or ?????

This is where cell pings and ATM/ credit /debit card records would be helpful.

It would help if we knew where his cell phone pinged the last time. I assume he had one.
Did he have money with him?
When and where he used his credit card the last time?
What was his demeanor last time they spoke with him?
Was he suddenly more absent in the months leading up to the move? If so he might have a girlfriend/boyfriend and disappeared with her/him.
Was he suffering from some kind mid life crisis, depression or other mental or physical health problems?
Why was he reported missing so many days later, was it normal to not hear from him for several days?
When was the last time someone actually spoke with him?
I again have way to many questions and so little answers.

He could have disappeared on his own free will or met with foul play or even could have driven of the road somewhere and had an accident.

Lear's car was found in a forested area about eight miles north of Keno, on a spur road off Clover Creek Road. A retired state trooper contacted police after seeing media reports about Lear and reported that he had seen the abandoned car Dec. 12.

Klamath County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue discontinued searching the area today after several hours because of harsh weather.

According to Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger, SAR resources and OSP detectives returned to the area Monday morning, December 24, and resumed searching for ROBERT LEAR, age 39, from Klamath Falls, who was reported missing to OSP by family members on December 20 after they last heard from him nine days earlier.
    .

Evinger reported SAR resources today include 6 searchers, four of whom are out on snowshoes; two K9 handlers with dogs from Jackson County Sheriff's Office; and, two OSP detectives. On Sunday, SAR resources included 9 searchers, seven of whom were on snowshoes, a Klamath County search manager, and the OSP detectives. Searches have been working in the area in which recent snowfall accumulations have reach 2 to 3 feet. A decision to continue searching the area will be made later today

Does anybody knows if the search was resumed? Or is there still a lot of snow around?
