'Operation Sunflower' launched in November; 44 kids directly rescued from abusers

DETROIT -
One hundred twenty-three victims of child sexual exploitation were identified by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents during an international operation aimed at rescuing victims and targeting individuals who own, trade and produce images of child *advertiser censored*. Of that number, 44 children were directly rescued from their abusers and 79 were identified as either being exploited by others outside of their home or are now adults who were victimized as children.

HSI launched Operation Sunflower in November 2012 to commemorate the one-year anniversary in which the identification of a sunflower-shaped highway road sign led to the rescue of an 11-year-old girl in Kansas. Operation Sunflower was executed through the first week of December 2012, but victim identification and rescue efforts continue under HSI’s Operation Predator.

As part of the operation, on Nov. 27, HSI special agents in Detroit arrested Michael Wioskowski, 54, of Eastpointe, for possession and receipt of child *advertiser censored*. He was indicted in the Eastern District of Michigan on the same day. During the execution of the search warrant, special agents discovered hidden video of two underage females using the shower in his residence. Wioskowski was employed as a court security officer in Macomb County and has previously held positions as a reserve police officer in Hamtramck, Mich., and as a security officer...

Looks like ICE is looking for help identifying more of these predators. Hope they are identified soon. Disappointed I have seems much media attention on these new suspects.

Thank the lord above! i pray that many more victims are identified and rescued, but more importantly CARED FOR PROPERLY AFTERWARD! God bless and keep those darling, innocent children, I hate these pedophiles- may they rot in hell.

Operation Sunflower "Unknown Suspect #1" has what is described as an "indiscernible" tattoo on his upper right tricep:

...but does this image look to anyone else like it could be anything BUT a classic Chinese dragon?



I'm not sure why ICE didn't just describe this tattoo as "an image of what is almost certainly a Chinese dragon," because that's what I (and I'm sure others) saw right away with no doubt. The dragon is facing to the right, it has a set of two long whiskers like other Chinese dragons are often depicted with, it has two blue outstretched, upraised arms and a long, serpent-like body. Do an image-search for "Chinese dragon tattoo" and you'll see many similar tattoos.

ETA: First guess at those items behind him? To the left, a ten-speed bike (probably not a stationary bike because there are brake cables visible) and to the right, possibly a "Guitar Hero"-style game controller, though I cannot find any images of a controller with the buttons in that order of colors.

Let's pray she quickly reveals the identity of the John Doe she apparently appeared in the same photos alongside.

Los Angeles police arrested the "Jane Doe" they were looking for in a possible case of child *advertiser censored*, federal officials announced Friday.

Letha Mae Montemayor, 52, of North Hills was taken into custody Thursday night.



According to the US Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, Montemayor is the woman pictured in a series of 40 widely distributed child *advertiser censored* images, about half of which depict a woman and a man molesting what looks like a young girl. Authorities publicized the photos Thursday morning, after years of unsuccessfully attempting to identify the suspects in the photos.

U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement said Thursday that 31-year-old Mickell E. Close of Quincy, in western Ohio, was arrested Nov. 8 and faces federal charges of child *advertiser censored* production. Agents said they identified and rescued three children who Close secretly recorded in a bathroom to produce video and still images that he traded on the Internet.

I did not see the dragon til you pointed it out. I am not at all familiar with tattoos, except, of course, for Mickey Shunick's bicycle tattoo!

I hope these 200 individuals, get every single thing they deserve.
