FL - Though armed with .45, hate crime victim decided not to shoot attacker
Armed Hate Crime Victim Decides Not to Shoot Attacker (Gawker)
Earlier this week, a 24-year-old Tampa-area resident named Cameron Mohammed was walking with his girlfriend into Walmart at around 3 a.m. when the two were approached from behind by a 25-year-old named Daniel Quinnell. Quinnell allegedly yelled racial epithets at the two, then fired 20 shots at Mohammed with a pellet gun — pictured above — striking him multiple times in the head and neck. Mohammed was armed, too — but with a real .45 caliber pistol. He chose not to shoot.

How refreshing to hear that someone chose not to use all the force they possibly could.
Quote from link http://gawker.com/5973439?:
"I don't know. I just couldn't do it," Mohammed said, recovering at his Tampa home two days after the attack. "I couldn't blow this guy away for something he could change later in life. I'm not going to decide this man's fate."
(Note: I'm not getting into gun stuff here--I'd feel relieved if he had a light saber and chose not to use it or if he was a ninja and chose not to use his ninja skills--I'm just happy to see that someone didn't use all their possible force just because they had the ability to)Unless specified otherwise and linked, my posts are simply random thoughts of mine, in no particular order, not directed at any post or poster, including but not limited to the ones directly above mine. One time, I was almost forced to use my rapier wit to defend myself. However, somehow I misplaced it.

... he threatened to kill the deputies he had made contact with and said he had "connections" who could murder them. ... he said, he "would just walk down State Road 54 with an assault rifle and start killing people," according to his arrest report.
... he was arrested two times on charges of domestic battery and twice on charges of violating domestic violence injunctions. When arrested Thursday, Quinnell was on felony probation for battery on a person aged 65 or older, ...
As a felon, Quinnell was banned from carrying firearms....
When deputies told him his victim wasn't Muslim, he told them he didn't care, that "they're all the same," Schoneman told reporters.
Let's see, how much of what I'm thinking can I post without getting the "ban the guns" peeps all wee wee'd up? Nope, not worth it.
I won't hold my breath for Quannell to be making any changes for the better. Mohammed and his girlfriend are very fortunate that Quannell's gun only fired pellets. I hope that the many innocent people Quannell will assault in the future are as fortunate as they were this time.
