RSO Rules: It seems there is a legal consideration concerning whether we are allowed to bring information to Websleuths from the actual sex offender registry.

It is illegal to use the sex offender register information to harass anyone. We would never condone this at Websleuths. It is not illegal (in my opinion) if when a child goes missing or is harmed we look at the sex offenders in the area and post their information, along with maps to show how close they live to the victim. In every case we have local people reading and posting here. Therefore we are within the guidelines using this info for local information. Again, we are not EVER going to even hint at harassing anyone on the sex offenders list. Any posting we do about a sex offender will always be within the law. If any of you have other questions about what you can and can't post please contact a mod and we will do our best to clear things up.

I know if a kid jumps off a bike while it is still somewhat in motion and drop it as they come to a stop, they tend to still be facing in the general direction that they were headed and not 90 degrees to the side. If you were to guess, which way do you think the bikes were headed on the trail?

I understand that if he/she/they are planners then it may not indicate that at all and the perp(s) could have come from the east and pointed them west, but I would still like to be provided a visual from the person that was there and saw them.

Brought this conversation forward in hopes of still getting a better visual of the directions the bikes may have been traveling the last time they were in motion.

SapphireSteele... I agree these locals are probably calling the tip line with all kinds of crazy things. I was really believing it because I've heard it so often from them.

This is the first I've heard of them, apart from Tammy's "fisher boy" but that was much later, nearly 3pm.

The reward is usually only released on successful prosectution.

Not sure about this case though.
 
Did we come to any sort of conclusion about whether the use of the word "wrestle" means that Lyric is a competitive wrestler?

I dunno, claiming rewards always seems a bit like the crop circles to me - it obviously happens, but no one ever sees it.

Not to sure it would be publicized. Just an announcement that it had been dispersed. Would you want your name out there and "some" people knowing you tipped LE off? Especially in a case like this? I know in Linda Reed's case, the woman to receive it come out because she was having a hard time collecting it.....and the amt was much lower than expected. TES put up monies towards it, but when Linda became wanted for the suspicion of embezzlement, TES cancelled their reward. Her boss put money up, but something was hinky with it also.

In the Samantha Runnion case, the reward was split between her best friend who witnessed the abduction and the ex-girlfriend of Samantha's killer who called LE.

I assumed that the recipient wouldn't be announced. It would be done discreetly and quietly. What my question was, is how often in a case like this, is that actually done? I ask because in every case that I've followed that has had a huge reward people repeatedly say that the huge reward will loosen lips, yet I havent seen that to be the case. But it isn't like I follow every single case, I was inquiring about cases where it did indeed happen.
