Mr. Debelak had worked as a contractor for the U.S. Navy at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Cuba for over 31 years. He had not left Cuba in over 17 years. When his contract was not renewed he was forced to leave Cuba. Prior to him leaving Cuba he was discovered hanging by a rope.

"When somebody dies, those who knew the deceased mourn," said Cdr. John Van Dickens, NS Guantanamo Bay Command Chaplain. "A funeral or memorial service helps all of us to acknowledge the loss and to grieve in the midst of a supporting community. We mourn best together. A memorial service recognizes the significance of a person’s life. It causes us to
reflect not only on the meaning and purpose of the life of the one who died, but ours as well, and the hope that our life will have made a difference in this world, and that we, along with the one we lose, will not be simply forgotten. Rituals such as a memorial service are vital to all healthy communities. It is a statement to our existence, it brings us together, and it leaves us with hope and courage to face the unknown. It allows us to find peace and closure and the ability to move on. And for those of faith, a memorial lifts the fallen to the God who made us, and in whose greater economy nothing is overlooked or forgotten.
The service for Branimir Debelak (Bronco) honors him by remembering him for who he was. It conveys the fact that his life was important, and that we were touched by that unique life. It is evident that he was a colorful man. Anyone who has lived here for thirty-four years, and who became the landscape icon that he was, has earned the right to a proper send off, regardless of how he died."

The marriage date listed is for 1977.

North Carolina, Marriage Collection, 1741-2004

Name: Branimir Debelak
Gender: Male
Race: White
Spouse: Mary Frances Fiala
Spouse Gender: Female
Spouse Race: White
Marriage Date: 1977
Marriage County: Pasquotank
Marriage State: North Carolina

I've tried having a look for the Mary Frances Fiala but I am finding it VERY difficult to find her especially as her age is not given.

Bump. Is anyone else able to find this woman, or find any record of a divorce or of her dying?

The only remotely viable women by this name I can find would all have been MUCH older than Branimir, like 40-60 years older.
