Family continues search for missing man

    January 08, 2013

Even though she's back in school, Amanda Wolfe hasn't stopped searching.

Wolfe's grandfather, 87-year-old Truman Tollefson, went missing Dec. 5. He'd stepped out that evening for a drive to the bank and supermarket, a routine couple of errands. But he never returned, and police have not tracked him down after a month of searching.

    Body of Truman Tollefson found

Medford, Oregon man 87-yr-old Truman Tollefson has been found.

R.I.P. Truman ~ Condolences to the family & friends.

Medford Police say they believe the body of Medford man 87-yr-old Truman Tollefson was found Sunday morning. Tollefson originally went missing in December of 2012. His family said he left to run some errands and never returned. Family members were also concerned because they indicated Tollefson had memory loss issues.

According to police, around 11am on Sunday, a Rogue River resident who was out chopping firewood, phoned police after he found an abandoned car and a body nearby.

Detectives with the Medford Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to mile marker 9 on Upper Grave Creek Road, a remote area just outside of Rogue River.

According to authorities, Tollefson's car became stuck when he tried to turn it around at a dead end. He got out of the vehicle and died nearby. Officials say there's no evidence of foul play.

While police believe they found Tollefson's body, an official confirmation is pending. It's expected a positive ID will be made later this week by the Jackson County Medical Examiners Office.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

Looks like no foul play. LE suspect that Tollefson got confused and drove up that road where his car got stuck. That road is usually not used in the winter so people didn't pass that way and see his car.
