IL - Eric Glover & Terrence Rankins, both 22, murdered, Joliet, 10 Jan 2013
The callousness. The absolute depravity of these teens. Horrific. Prayers for the families of the victims.
Two men have been killed and dismembered by four young adults who were caught playing video games in the home when police arrived at the scene of the gruesome murder.
The bodies of Eric Glover and Terrence Rankins were found by police inside a home in the suburb of Joliet, Illinois on Thursday and the atrocious nature of the deaths shocked even veteran members of the force.
It is thought the accused lured their victims into the home and killed them after trapping them inside.
'This is one of the most brutal, heinous and upsetting things I've ever seen in my 27 years of law enforcement,' Police Chief Mike Trafton said.

Details of the crime will come out in court, Assistant State’s Attorney John Connor said, but until then, prosecutors keep information private — even from the victims’ families — to avoid tainting witnesses.

Friends of the victims said Rankins and Glover were called to the home by the women charged in their deaths. Casey Smith said Rankins called Wednesday night and joked that the women were telling him and Glover that they had been "kidnapped."
"He said they told him, 'You ain't going home tonight,'" Smith recalled, adding that Rankins thought it was a joke. "They said, 'You're kidnapped and you ain't going home.'"

"It's just senseless," Glover's mother Nicole Jones said. "It's hard for me to say the words."
Glover graduated from Joliet Central High School and had made the honor roll and participated in football, wrestling and track, his family said. Rankins, described as "a very outgoing, loving, fun person" by his mother, graduated from Joliet West High School.

Miner, 24, asked his girlfriend Massaro, 18, to have sex on top of the dead men who were left with bags tied around their heads, according to police.
Miner lined the bodies side by side and covered them with something colored beige, according to statements attributed to McKee.
After Miner's arrest, an ex-girlfriend accused him of other sinister acts. Ivon Walsh said that Miner once confined her to a room in her mother's home and on another occasion brander her buttocks with a swastika and upside-down cross.

Outside of that, this has got to be one of the most disturbing cases I have seen in a long time. I can't believe I am just now hearing about it and I can not believe this hasn't reached high media status. This, imo, is a death penalty case for all involved. I don't care how young they are.Justice for Trayvon

....and like you, T when I read certain things online I somehow hear some of our WS friends voices reading along. I saw this last night and figured one of us would post.
What I got out of all my reading and sleuthing was the Miner guy is the key and that ex girlfriend is a piece of work herself. Yes, I did look at her various mugshots from over the years. That being the ex who has put herself out there to be interviewed.
It is heartbreaking for the families of these young men to not only have them murdered, but to know these awful details.

A day after Alisa R. Massaro, 20, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and two counts of concealing a homicide, her now former co-defendants on Friday appeared before Will County Circuit Court Judge Gerald Kinney, who agreed to have the three tried separately. Kinney set a pre-trial date of June 16 for Joshua F. Miner, 25, Adam Landerman, 20, and Bethany L. McKee, 19.
They are charged in the January 2013 murders of Eric Glover and Terrence Rankings, both 22, of Joliet. The case, known as the Hickory Street murders, has some grisly details with two of the defendants reportedly having sex on top of the corpses and racial overtones as both the victims were black and each of the defendants white.
Kinney said he will keep the three defendants together until they go on trial. Each, however, will ultimately be tried separately, Kinney said.

The sister of a Joliet man, slain last year in a double murder in the city, has helped organize a rally at noon Thursday to protest a recent plea deal involving one of the four defendants accused of the killings...
Massaro’s attorney said the plea agreement requires Massaro to testify against Joshua Miner, 25, Adam Landerman, 20, and Bethany McKee, 19, if called as a witness at their murder trials. At the state’s request, each will be tried separately.
“She deserves life just like the rest of them do,” Glover’s sister, Lytierra Williams, 25, said Wednesday. “They took two lives. They should get life (in prison).”
