"Minish was last seen around St. Patrick's Day in 1987 as she left her job at a fast-food restaurant on Wrightsboro Road. Her car was found a few days later at the Wrightsboro Road exit of Bobby Jones Expressway. One tire was flat, the door had been pried open and the steering column was smashed."

She was last seen AROUND St. Patrick's Day?? Do they not know for sure? Or it is just an awkwardly written line? I would think that at 19, Becky either still lived with family or maybe a roommate, who would certainly have notified the police the first night she didn't come home. Or, the restaurant where she worked would have tried calling her home if she didn't report to work the next day.

Here's the Charley Project case file; unfortunately it doesn't offer much more in the way of details, other than the year of her car, that it was a KFC where she worked, and that she never picked up her last paycheck.

I'm wondering if she had a boyfriend? An ex? Did anyone note Becky having trouble with someone?

I am local to the area. I will be talking with the cold case investigator this week about Becky.. I will update any info I can find out.

Per LE, they have no records left.. and if they did have no clue where they are at.

Thats beyond sad

Unsolved murders of Augusta area Georgia since 1973: timeline

What's interesting; is if you use your browser search; highlight the word "found"; Becky is the only one who's body has not been found.

1987
March 17: Becky Annette Minish, 19, of Evans, has been missing since St. Patrick's Day 1987. Her car was found abandoned and damaged days later on Bobby Jones Expressway. Officially, she is considered a missing person, but investigators said she is presumed to be dead.

Victims & possible victims of Gary Michael Hilton

Missing-person cases vary widely Some other missing-persons cases are decades old. Bobby Minish has not seen or heard from his sister in nearly 20 years.

Becky Annette Minish, then 19, disappeared around St. Patrick's Day in 1987, as she left her job at a fast-food restaurant on Wrightsboro Road, he said.

Her car was found a few days later at the Wrightsboro Road exit of Bobby Jones Expressway. One tire was flat, the door had been pried open and the steering column was smashed, Mr. Minish said.

Although Ms. Minish is still officially considered a missing person, Mr. Minish and authorities say she probably isn't alive.

"There's a very strong suspicion of foul play," said Richmond County sheriff's Investigator DeWayne Piper, who reopened the cold case four years ago after new leads developed.

Those new clues led nowhere, however, and the case remains unsolved.

Eighteen years later, Mr. Minish, now 43, and living in Appling with his wife, Susan, is still seeking answers.

"I'd like to find out who did it," Mr. Minish said. "I sure would."

Mr. Minish said his sister's disappearance was too much for his parents.

"My mother died of a broken heart, and I believe my dad did too," said Mr. Minish. "They both died in their 50s. I can't comprehend it. I've seen what it did to my mother."

Raine; can you get in touch with them again & ask them to get DNA from her brother? She actually has 2 brothers; one is on FB; Bobby is not. I'm going to try to contact the other. They need to get a DNA sample in case she is a UP.

The DNA is no cost to LE; NamUs provides it. If you want me to grab links let me know.

I went to hs with Becky. Remember this like it was yesterday. Instead, tomorrow will be 26 years! Sad for her family.

Such a sad story.
Do you talk to the family at all? There is no DNA on her NamUs profile. Someone should give a sample
If you need info on how to do it let me know

Any additional details you can post here would be appreciated, esp. since LE doesn't have the case file anymore (?)

Sorry. I do not know the family or any details. This happened a few years after high school. I remember reading about it in the paper and a few years ago they spoke to her brother on the news. I can't believe that LE no longer have the file. How sad!

A little off the topic here...this isn't the first time I have heard of a case file being lost, misplaced, destroyed in a fire, etc. I wonder if LE would find it acceptable to make copies of any non-confidential type information for the victims families so they can have a copy in the event something happens to the original? I know that one of the medical specialists I saw once told me that I should always request a copy of my medical file every time I go to the doctor and have it for safekeeping. Obviously, LE couldn't provide EVERYTHING that is written in the file for legal reasons, but there must be something that would be okay. , dental records, circumstances, a picture, list of witnesses, friends questioned, etc. JMO JMO

how does LE lose records? How awful for her family-are they still searching for her?

inexcusable, poor police work. I don't think this was an ex boyfriend. I think this was a stranger. What I want to know is this-how was the steering column smashed, I mean with what and how was the car door pried open? Was her job near an isolated area? Because prying a car door open is no mean feat. It would take time and passersby would notice that.

She worked at a KFC, iirc. It was less than a mile from The Augusta Mall. Her car was found on Bobby Jones Expressway, not at all isolated. I have always believed that the car may have been dropped there because that is a main road in our city. Strange that there were no witnesses. Nothing. Nada. Just vanished! I think of Becky often. It is just so hard to believe that she hasn't been found.

I follow missing cases all the time. It is different when it is someone you personally knew.

I really hope and pray that there is a resolution to this one day. Her family deserves it and so does she.:please:

Becky has been missing 27 years today. On NamUs, her last name is Edmondson, although Minish is used in the circumstances.

895

According to knowx Edmondson was her married name? There is a divorce record for them.
Also, there is another record of a Becky Edmondson marrying a P.L. Not sure if it is her though.

I don't see any rule outs on namus?

With her height being 5"10 blond hair blue eyes, here is a consideration:

Good find, Sleuthster.

I did a side by side with Becky. Wish we had more pictures of her -- with her head tilted like that, it's hard to get a good perspective on her chin and nose.
