    Nov 22, 2012

A dedicated police operation has been set up to help tackle ongoing bikie gangs violence, after a shooting murder at Pooraka in northern Adelaide.

Taskforce Alpha will combine the work of 30 detectives from Major Crime and the Crime Gangs Taskforce

    Dec 21, 2012

Major Crime detectives said they had several persons of interest as they investigated last month's shooting murder of Jason De Ieso, 33, at a paint and panel workshop at Pooraka in northern Adelaide.

Detective Superintendent Grant Moyle said it was believed the same group of men ransacked the Lord of Ink tattoo parlour at Salisbury, then went to Pooraka in two cars.

    Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

Thank you Marlywings ... I think this case is definitely worth following since the Missing Person: Rachel Moritz was more about this murder than a missing girl once the link between her car, her BF and the murder came to light
Neither the state nor the defense team are saints, and there is usually plenty of incompetence to go around on both sides of the courtroom.

HUNDREDS of mourners stood on the steps of Newton's St Francis of Assisi Church to farewell Jason De Ieso - the latest casualty of Adelaide's vicious bikie wars and one of 23 people to meet with foul play in South Australia this year.

A customised Harley-Davidson stood outside the church as De Ieso's family and friends bade farewell in an hour-long service for the 33-year-old, who died when gunmen stormed into Unique Custom Paint & Panel, Pooraka, and gunned him down in front of workmates on November 21.

As the bells tolled, De Ieso's casket was carried out and placed in a waiting hearse before his final trip to nearby Payneham cemetery. There was no obvious bikie presence at the church, no tribe in leather jackets or colours.

UP to 80 bikies and bikie associates linked to the feuding Hells Angels and Finks motorcycle gangs have been barred from every licensed venue in the state in an unprecedented crackdown.

Police have issued the barring orders, preventing them from entering any pub, club, licensed restaurant or entertainment venue.

In a move aimed at keeping a simmering bikie war off the streets of Adelaide during festive celebrations, the state's 900 licensed venues received many of the barring notices on Friday and more on Christmas Eve.

The Advertiser understands the barring orders advise that the bikies and associates are linked to the November 21 shooting murder of Jason De Ieso in his Pooraka custom paint and panel workshop.

    Is there a connection?

A MAN has been shot dead at Parafield in Adelaide's north.
The man, 34, was shot in the head and hip at the back of the Big Bucket Car Wash near Bunnings on Lawrence Hargrave Way about 6.40am.

He was treated by ambulance crews at the scene and rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with critical injuries and died shortly after arrival.

Police are investigating links between the shooting and a burnt-out silver Kia sedan found on Myall Boulevard, Salisbury, about 30 minutes later.

MFS crews were called to the dead-end street to extinguish the blaze. Sleeping equipment was found next to the car.

    Update:

A connection is possible but I would think Task Force Alpha would be investigating not Major Crime.

Is there anyone here that would be willing to explain to me the different stages of a court hearing - committal, hearing, and I know there are other descriptions/headings but i dont know anything about the court process and would be interested to know. For example when someone first attends court is that just 'formalities' or does it go straight into lawyers arguing cases etc?

SAPOL has just announced a $500,000 reward for information on Jason De Ieso's murder. Second highest reward ever in SA.
