GUILTY OK - Linda Laird, 56, beaten to death at her Tulsa home, 22 Jan 2013

Police were called to a home in 7400 block of South Urbana around 10 a.m. They say a relative discovered the body of Linda Laird, 56, inside the home at about 9:30 a.m.

The relative told police Laird's 17-year-old son, Henry "Hank" Laird, was in the home but left when the relative started asking questions about what happened.

Police are looking for Hank Laird. He's described as a white male, 5'9" tall, 150 pounds with blue eyes and pink-reddish hair.

Police say they've been called out to the home for domestic violence issues before.

Tulsa teen accused in mother's death has history of violence (Tulsa World)
---
Hank Laird was charged and adjudicated as a delinquent by the Juvenile Bureau of Tulsa County District Court. The cases involved domestic assault and battery for assaults on his mother in April 2012 and October 2011, according to court documents obtained by the Tulsa World. He was also adjudicated on the same type of charge in a Wagoner County case in April 2011.

The Tulsa County assaults occurred in the same home on Urbana Avenue where Linda Laird was killed, records show.

"It's almost a sad commentary, because she could have gotten away from him at any time and kept bringing him back. It's a typical domestic violence cycle," Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker said.

AND this sad tale has made the Daily Mail (with pictures of alleged perps):

Boy, 17, smiles and laughs as police arrest him for 'beating his mother to death with the butt of a shotgun'
---
The radio station reports that Laird's juvenile record shows that he began beating his mother in 2007, when he was just 12.

In April 2011, the teen punched his mother repeatedly in the face.

In April 2012, he threw Linda Laird against the wall and choked her.

Each time, Linda Laird told judges that her son was getting better. Each time she vouched for him in court and pleaded for lesser punishment.

However, neighbors told police that she was terrified of her son.

I hope this sick, cruel individual, is someday well enough to feel the full onslaught from his actions.

How does one kill their Mother, than run to the grandmother for help?? So, at what point does helping your child go from 'enough', to over the top.

I wonder if Henry David Laird's folks named him after that apostle of non-violence, Henry David Thoreau. Irony of ironies.

Oh, how I wish she had let the state keep custody of him years ago! RIP.
