"LONDON, Ont. -- Waterloo Regional Police homicide detectives say the discovery of dismembered human remains found in a Kitchener, Ont., garbage bin are that of an unidentified woman.

Police made the grisly discovery Saturday morning after citizens found the what they suspected were human remains.

Police confirmed Sunday the remains were a human torso"

I wonder if that photo provided by MSM is the exact t-shirt, as it looks quite new going by the lettering?
I have quick searched ebay for shirts with these words on and they come in different lettering styles.
I also found someone in the Kitchener area selling Twilight/Vamp Diary merchandise on a website called Kijiji. The items were posted on the 25th of this month, which now has me wondering what state of decay the torso was in.

May be prudent to check if any conventions for this genre of tv show/film has been in the area.

"Police say that the deceased wore a black T-shirt with the words "Forget princess, I want to be a vampire" on the front.

An image of a similar T-shirt was released to the media on Sunday.

Police have not recovered any other remains so far.

A forensic autopsy is scheduled to take place at a Hamilton hospital on Monday.

Investigators were due to return to the scene where the remains were found on Sunday. Thaler said that 28 officers have been assigned to the case

Is it weird that the torso is still clothed? I wonder where the rest of her is.

The t-shirt implies she may have been fairly young - it's the sort of thing my daughter would wear.

I've been looking for missing women in the general area K-W and London, Cambridge, etc. Was she in a bag, luggage? Just dumped like that? RIP poor woman. We'll find out who you are soon and there will be justice.

Agreed on the oddity - I'd think - of the clothed torso. The shirt may have been donated to a charity store of some sort and thus obtained second-hand.

That's a city that people from our church sometimes go to conferences in and sometimes people from there come down to our church to visit. Its creepy the way so many people (mostly women) are being found dismembered these days. Its bad enough that they were killed without being dismembered and dumped in the trash.

It seems dismembering women is kind of a trend..

She's more than likely a very recent missing person. I haven't found many that could match so far - I'm going to assume she wasn't elderly.. and they said 'woman', so 14-16 (to allow for girls who are maturely developed) to say, 40?

I wonder how difficult it is to estimate the age of a torso.

A disturbing discovery at an apartment complex near downtown Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Police confirmed Sunday afternoon that the torso of an adult woman was found inside a garbage bin at 250 Frederick Street (near Gordon Street).

The discovery was made by some people passing by the area just after 11am on Saturday.

...

Thaler also said investigators are looking over missing person reports, which is standard in this type of investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled to be done in Hamilton on Monday.

This is Waterloo Region’s first homicide of 2013.

Medical examiners should be able to tell if the woman has given birth from her torso, an age estimation can also be told from her pubic epiphysis. Also, any tattoos, scars, birthmarks, evidence of recent sexual activity will show in examination.
