ITA.

It was not grief or post-traumatic stress or her selflessness trying to save Travis' reputation that led her to deny the murder. The facts, the background, and Jodi herself established the deserving and accurate depiction of her as a cold-blooded murderer.

This is simply a more formal presentation of her next chapter of lies, this time told through lawyers and "experts". I don't believe or expect we'll hear new truths, but new distortions and slanderous interpretations according to Jodi and Co.

And I'm grateful this isn't a courtroom and we are a victim-friendly forum!

If Gus was trying to contact the DA "lots of times", what was he trying to contact them about? I wonder. And I wonder why they didn't call him back.

Do we know the back story on this?

Ugh rewatching him still sitting there smiling and smirking with his big fat gold ring and gold salesman brooch. :slap:

He had information that could either hurt her or free her...until Chris reminded him she'd admitted to killing Travis when he revised it to hurt her or help her.

Okay I have a different take on today.

WHY is Chris Hughes contacting someone who is going to be a(nother) witness in the case? Did he not know that is a big no-no? And where did Skye Hughes get the info about Gus S. being a witness, and why can't she keep her mouth shut (either)?

Yes, Gus is sleazy, but the Hughes are making things worse by gossiping and trying to get info and then passing it along. Making remarks about anyone in the case (including the lawyers) to another potential witness is really stupid. Doesn't matter if their observations about Nurmi are correct or not, it was not their place to instigate contact with Gus S. And they did. And they not only instigated contact, they specifically asked about his being a witness in this case. Not okay.

So I hold the 2 of them (Chris & Skye Hughes) accountable for this cluster****. Isn't it common sense that if you believe you will be a witness in a murder trial you keep your mouth shut? And that means, say nothing to anyone? That's the only way to protect the integrity of a case. Not just when a judge tells you to, but from the beginning. You talk to the police, you talk to the district attorney or whoever is working on the case, and then you shut up about what you know or what you hear for as long as it takes for a legal case to be resolved. If it's years, like this one, then it's years. You say nothing except to the case principals and only when asked. Sheesh.

sounds to me like he was willing to help her---if the defense asked, or hurt her---if the state asked. either way, if he comes across in front of the jury like he did today, he's only going to hurt his own credibility. arguing and being a wise *advertiser censored* is just never a good idea.

P.S.

Should I feel slighted if I call Mr. Martinez and he doesn't call me back? < sniff, sniff > :crush: :blushing:

I'm just wondering what this wealth of information he claims to have on both sides is. Obviously the State didn't take him seriously (enough to even return his calls). I think Juan did a great job of exposing him as an attention *advertiser censored*(dom).

Ha! "Gus Searcy=Roy Krunk of this trial".

Although, in Roy's defense, he DID have something IMPORTANT to report, hence his frequent phone calls. Whilst it sounds like ol' Gus had nothing but a bridge in the desert to sell the prosecution.

The only think I can say is, it takes two to tango! If Jodi was being used/abused she should have walked away.
This is very true, but I think we all know that people in abusive relationships don't always leave when prudent. I'm not saying this is clearly what happened... Just that it's possible.

If Gus is a sample of the Defense team's witnesses, we are in for a strange week of testimony. Is that the best they can do?

I think they could do a whole lot better (in terms of my personal entertainment) in putting Jodi Arias on the stand. :please:

By the way, I'm heading back down there on Wed. for the afternoon session. And maybe also Friday for some of the day. I may need some Ativan laced in my water so keep me from getting ejected from the courtroom. :shush:
