CO - Troy Green, 39, Rocky Mountain NP, 31 Jan 2013

Park rangers are asking for the public's help in searching for a 39-year-old man from Texas.

Kind of hard to get lost at bear lake in the winter time, or any time for that matter. It IS easy to get turned around on the trails from bear lake to the glacier campground, but I wouldn't think he would have went on a walk in that direction. Sure hope he is ok!

He seems like an active guy who likes to do outdoor , physically exerting things. I wonder if he had any real experience hiking in a rugged area or just dreamed of doing it and set off , inexperienced, to do so . Praying you're ok !

If anyone is local and can ring the RMNP rangers it might be worth tipping them that he was into geocaching - might give them some directions to try?
I would but can't afford the phone bill...

I will call RMNP and tip them that he is a geo cacher... I sure hope they find him soon. Do we know if he was dressed for the weather up there?

Why didn't MSM release any information about the conference he was there to attend?

Found that this conference was due to be held...
'The conference takes place in Denver on 1 February (see programme here). China’s growing influence in Africa is a topic that triggers controversial debates in the United States.'

We can assume the wife spoke to him on Wednesday, so was he travelling that day or was he already there? It would be good to know if he checked into his hotel.
