I found a little info on public posts. I'm sure this is her FB locked down tight but there is a photo of her.

Hmm....I'm assuming they've started checking the various paths to head north? Any indication she may have gone south (to San Diego or beyond) on her own or otherwise? When was she supposed to leave LA to head toward Santa Cruz? Stops in between?

her disappearance is suspicious and may suggest foul play.. what does that mean? Is it because she stopped contact with family? I've never heard that before.

What was Elisa doing here in LA? A bit of background would be of great help. Wonder if there's any Canadian articles about her missing.

Nothing new here except there is a video of part of the press conference hosted outside the hotel. You can see the part of the hotel that Elisa was staying in ("Stay on Main" - a hostel attached to the Cecil Hotel). A couple of hostel guests are briefly interviewed and Elisa's family stands behind the LEO speaking at the press conference.

LE is checking her credit card and phone records. Still no comment on why Eliza was in California (other that she is a tourist).

I noticed that TripAdvisor has a separate review for Stay on Main (and you can see photos there). It is clearly geared toward a younger budget crowd. The reviews here also comment on the sketchiness of the area and they felt unsafe about going out at night. Most rooms don't have their own bathroom (not uncommon for traveler's hostels).

On a separate note, the KTLA video (in news article linked further up) mentions that Elisa takes medication and 'may have mental health issues'. I hope she is o.k. and that she has her medication with her. Her family must be frantic!

Finally, I noticed that in the image of her from FB, she appears to be on the set for the George Stoumboulopoulos show. She appears to be sitting in George's seat though (he usually sits on the left side based on images I've found on line) so perhaps she just visited the set or the photo is backwards. I haven't come across any mention of a link between Elisa and the show online yet.

Vancouver woman missing in L.A. last heard from 6 days ago

snipped...Police say Lam had been in L.A. for three days after spending several days in San Diego.

...She didn’t have a car and was travelling by Amtrak train and public transit.

Homicide and robbery investigators are in the process of going through surveillance footage at the hotel, and monitoring whether her debit and credit cards have been used.

It’s not known if her belongings were left in the hotel.

Here's the CBC article.

Lam is a University of British Columbia student and was hoping to graduate in 2016.

Her sister, Sarah Lam, a makeup artist in Vancouver, tweeted a plea for help in hopes that someone will come forward with information.

Police say they've collected some of Lam's belongings and investigators will be looking closely at security video from the hotel.

That doesn't sound good that some of her belongings were left there. :(

I am local, way of westide though.
Two things I thought when I heard this today, and I just heard it today via CNN (I don't watch much local news):

1. The people that live in the hotel.
2. Going out late at night for a coffee, bottled water, could put you in a dangerous situation (this area is know for "strolls".)

Her brother-in-law is very vocal on twitter as well.

After reading the reviews online, there are characters that live in this hotel, or have at least, for long term. The man in the wheelchairs comes up time and time again because of how rude he is, but I just know from living here that there are many more longterm stays.

Did Elisa have a room with a bathroom? That's the biggest question I have right now.
