1) We are a discussion board that is victim friendly. This thread is to discuss the trial. There is a reason why the words **adult content** are in the title of this thread. Some of the content may be offensive to some. If it happens in the trial you can discuss it.

2) DO NOT DISCUSS OTHER POSTERS! I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS HAPPENING AGAIN.

3) Don't tell others how to post. This thread is to discuss the trial and if you don't like a particular topic that is being discussed change the subject or roll past the post.

4) Humor is okay but don't take it too far.

5) If you see a post that concerns you ALERT IT! DON'T RESPOND TO IT! Little red triangle upper right hand corner of the post.

6) NAME CALLING AND NAME VARIATIONS ARE A :nono:

7) Do not discuss the victim's family members. You can discuss them in general, express your condolences, etc but DO NOT sleuth them, speculate about them, etc.

I think JA's testimony and Nurmi's strategy is to DISTRACT from the crime itself. I can not recall so much unnecessary drivel spouted from the stand in a long time.

This has to be so hard on the family of TA.

And I think that the Defense's strategy of distraction and character assassination of poor TA will backfire on them. JA may get the DP afterall.

Don't you find it disgusting that this is even allowed? Travis isn't even here for rebuttal? What kind of justice is that? How on earth to we find ourselves accepting a known liar who has admitted to killing someone trying to justify her actions through testimony that has no one left alive to counter? And to boot, we put it all in the hands of 12 people we know nothing about?

I think the whole legal process needs a complete rehaul.
 
If one person (woman) has a weapon and another doesn't (man), the playing field is pretty much equal. JA got TA into a very vulnerable position. He was naked, wet, and with either a gun, knife, or both trained on him. A huge number of people freeze in situations such as this. There is no doubt that JA could have controlled him.

By changing her religion Jodi was upset about giving up her Starbucks but giving up sex was no problem because she never really gave it up. Evidently Jodi never heard of the word no. I don't think she had all the sex she claims she had with Travis. If he gave in it would have been shortly before he was killed. We know from what Travis' friends say Jodi was constantly trying to seduce him. jmo

You have made the assumption that Jodi couldnt have done that because women don't behave that way, and that was my whole point. I think that's a faulty assumption, and if the same crime happened with a male as the perpetrator and the female as the victim, the automatic conclusion would be that rape was involved, rather than consensual sex.

Women do victimize able bodied men able to potentially defend themselves:

The defense DV expert said it's relevant as part of the dynamics that led Jodi to fear for her life on June 4.

Judge pretty much has to allow them to present the testimony even if it's false -- that's for the jury to decide.

They aren't lies until proven otherwise. That is up to the State, friends and family who knew Travis best to nail her. jmo
