Silvia and her family will look back on this time as a blessing in disguise if she can find the strength to do the right thing.

What usually makes the NCMEC restrict a poster? Child found?

Most of the time GulfCoastKAT, but not always. Sometimes it is to update the information in the profile, and release a new poster.

    Restricted status definition

    NCMEC:

For our agency to create posters of missing children, certain criteria
must be met. The child must have an active case with law enforcement,
the child must be entered into the police computer database, and the
child's legal guardian or law enforcement must approve poster
distribution. When a case is "restricted" it means that some or all of
the criteria is no longer being met. Usually this is resolved quickly
and either the case is resolved or the posters are put back up.
Most usually there will be another notice issued by NCMEC if the child is indeed located.
