MI - Fred Byrne, 49, Big Rapids, 12 Feb 2013

    http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/local/nw_mich/Fred-Byrne

He was last seen at 3 p.m. Tuesday leaving his mother's residence in Holland after taking his son back to Hope College in Ottawa County, according to a news release from the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety.
Byrne was driving a 2005 silver Chevrolet Malibu, with Michigan license plate BSY0298 in a Hope College plate cover. The vehicle has a BR sticker on one side of the back window and a Hope College Parent sticker on the other side of the window.
FYI - wife is commenting under article, she needs help finding him!

he intended on stopping at Rivertown Crossings mall in Grandville on his way back home to Big Rapids to pick up a Valentines Day gift for his wife. He also left a note at his home stating that he would be home in time for dinner

might be a lawyer - but seeing how holland is about 90miles away from big rapids, not sure that is connected (but who knows)

If he made it to Rivertown Crossings - perhaps he suffered a medical emergency in his car? He's listed at 340lbs and 40yo. Wonder if they have mall security scouring the parking lots?

i do believe from Holland to Grandville is a straight shot on 131? so, if there were an accident, it would be along a very well traveled highway.

Quick casemap I pulled together....Don't have any exact addresses other than the mall and the college he dropped son off prior to going to his mother's home.

http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/local/nw_mich/Fred-Byrne Not sure this is how to link, but it states Byrne's car was located in Missouri, around 6pm.

    Updated the map....
The logical route he could have driven is nearly 9 hours long....Do we know what time he left his mother's home??
ETA: Just reread the original articles and they say he left at about 3pm on Tuesday....so let's say he immediately left there headed to that forest...he'd arrive there roughly at midnight that night. I wonder where exaclty his car was found....a public parking area in the forest? in a ditch? on the side of the road????

So strange that his wallet on back seat floor and keys in console. Either he was gone in MI and someone took his car down to MO or else shocking to his family, decided to go on his own.

if he went on his own, was it for a client? or what? not to sound cold but i doubt it was another woman due to his size. But maybe another woman lured him there on some pretense and thinking he's a lawyer and has money, they took advantage of him?
