Queen Anne’s County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a woman who disappeared from Kent Island Friday night or early Saturday morning.
Robin Lee Pope is a 51-year-old white woman from Chester who was reported missing at 2 a.m. on Saturday.
Pope was last seen on Friday night at about 11 p.m. in her vehicle on Beech Drive in the Kent Island Estates community in Stevensville. She had her Great Dane dog with her at the time.
Pope’s purse and cell phone were later found in the vehicle and her dog was found dead by people walking on the beach on Saturday afternoon.
At that time, deputies considered Pope was a “critical missing person” and ramped up their search efforts. Natural Resources Police officers and the Coast Guard are assisting in the search.
Anyone with information that may help in finding Pope should contact the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff at 410-758-0770.

Oh my goodness, how horrible. With her dog being killed, this does not sound good at all. I wonder how the poor Great Dane was killed. It could determine if the dog seemed to,know the perp,or not

She and WP haven't been married that long. They were married in August of 2010. Prior to that, she was married and had somewhat of a rocky divorce it seems (mostly due to child support), but all of that was cleared up by 2001. I found a few records for WP, but it was for a lawsuit and his divorce a couple of years ago.

Seems to me if the dog died from blunt force it had to be something like a baseball bat or vehicle. That's a HUGE dog.

What guy leaves his soon to be ex in their house alone (the point being the lack of trust) and goes out? Should be interesting how his alibi checks out for that time period. Looking at mapquest I see there is only a half dozen homes on Beach Road. I doubt where the dog's body was found was where he was initially struck, reason being he was a huge dog and was injured I think he would have ran. Blood trail if any would show that. Also those homes are wide open there and I'm wondering ,as this is early in the case, if anybody heard anything(yelling, dog barking, etc).
