I couldn't find any news articles on this unidentified male. Per NamUs, he was the driver of a car that hit a tree in Washington, D.C. who was pronounced dead at Prince George's Hospital Center. I was searching for details on the car or police comments on the cause of the crash, but no success.

Warning: Post mortem photo at below NamUs link.

Comments:
The fact that a transportation method is listed for Justin caught my eye, although I am confused as the book mentions he vanished while walking to his grandmother's house, not driving. It isn't clear if the car is his or one he was last seen in.

What makes his profile interesting:

  • Disappearance date of a month prior to the unidentified male's accident (July 12, 2002 vs. August 23, 2002).
  • His age fits into the UID's range (16 vs. 15-25 years old).
  • Both are black males.
  • Both have braided hair.
  • Justin is listed as 145 lbs. while the UID is measured at 155 lbs. Height is off - Justin is listed as 5 ft. 6 in. while the UID is 5 ft. 10 inc.
  • Justin has a facial scar while the UID has acne - perhaps acne scarring severe enough to warrant the mention?
  • The clothing reported seem to be in a similar wardrobe style ballpark. he UID had "one belt, 2 shoes, pants, shorts & t-shirt" while Justin was last seen wearing "White t-shirt, dark shorts, white high top tennis shoes".
  • Neither has tattoos reported.
  • The car listed for Justin has sparse information listed. The UID's car apparently did not lead to his identification.

At a guess, it was a stolen car since they were apparently not able to trace him via the vehicle details.

Huh. Must not have gotten caught before b/c no fingerprint on file. Don't the majority of people who steal cars commit other less serious crimes first? Odd.

Im going through some of these maryland cases. There is now a photo of him. I can't tell though, it's a blurry photo.

His NamUs page hasn't been updated since 2012. Can anyone contact the police agency investigating his case and ask them to look into Tamborah Brown?
