juror list (copy and paste from KBisme

Ok, so I'll start on my notes. First, I couldn't see Jodi from where I was sitting because an interns head was blocking my view of her. I did have a great view of the jury though, so almost all of my notes are about them. I'll first start with adding my take on each of them to Anita's awesome list. I made a list of my own because I wasn't as smart as PASA (she printed Anita's list and had it with her). My comments are in purple.

Jurors

1.Church Lady- Mid 50's, short hair, no make-up, glasses.
This lady looks absolutely disgusted the whole time. I never once saw her look in the direction of JA. Not ONCE. She either stares straight forward or looks at JM.

2.Trump-Guy in 40's, lots of hair, car salesman look.
I called this guy "Comb Over" he had his head resting on his hand almost the whole time. He also never looks at JA. He seemed to be paying attention, but also seemed bored.

3.Housewife-She is a big lady (tall and heavy set, not obese) with a very sweet face, no make-up.
Interesting different view today. I called her the "Angry Neighbor Lady" Lol. I wrote that she follows along, but has a constant "sour puss". I don't know if it's just "her look" or what, but she seemed to be frowning every time I looked at her.

4.Grandpa-Bald, sweet faced older man that looks like my grandpa.
I also named this man Grandpa. He does have a sweet face and seems the "calm" type.

5.Tricolor-Early 30's, short, stylish haircut with three colors, reminds me of one of my hairstylists.
This is the only one I remembered Anita's name for because her hair stood out, Lol. She reminded me of my best friend. She probably gave more facial expressions than any of the others. She is very engaged and took a fair amount of notes.

6.Nancy-Lady in her 50's, lovely face, reminds me of Nancy Reagan with glasses, short sassy haircut.
I called her Spikey Hair. Anita's description is better. She was the only one I saw look at Jodi when the jury first walked in. She took a lot of notes.

7.Paul Rudd-Younger guy, mid-late 20's with spiky hair, sweat jacket, looks like the actor Paul Rudd.
He does look like Paul Rudd, but with shorter hair. He's a good looking young man.

8.The CEO-Good looking man, mid 50's with goatee. Can see him being the jury foreman.
I called this guy "The Dad". He looks nothing like my dad, Lol, but for whatever reason... I got a fatherly feel from him.

9.Willy-Old hippy with long white ponytail, thin, small build.
This guy looked PIZZED the whole time. He seemed to be staring towards the media lady or just into the corner. I only saw him look at JM or JA maybe once.

10.Barb-Female, 40's, has the "sexy librarian" look, wearing a form fitting sweater, slender build and voluptuous. If ANYONE on the jury is offended by disparaging comments regarding breast augmentation, my guess is it would be her. She is the only juror I couldn't see very clearly; just when she entered and exited the courtroom and when I stretched up out of my seat to gawk at her.
I called this lady "Plain Jane" She was very hard to see from where I was, but I could tell she was taking notes quite a bit.

11.Poquito-Little Mexican guy (maybe 5'3) with long graduated pony tail, lots of facial hair and piercings.
I called him "Paco" He was hard to see too, but mostly because he was slouched down in his seat I thought he'd fall off Lol. At one point he was bent over instead of slouching, but still very hard to see.

12.Neil-Early 50's high forehead, glasses, looks very nervous and turns red easily. This is the guy that makes KCL nervous.
I called this guy "Jim" I wrote "very hard to read".

13.The Wrestler-Younger good looking guy, large build.
I called this guy "The Jock" He reminded me a little of Oz on American Pie (Chris Klein).

14.Old potsmoking CPA (I have no idea why I wrote this, i have ZERO recollection of this juror. He did not make any impression on me, other than when I was going down the rows naming them.)
I called this guy Sleepy. He swiveled in his chair a lot and fell asleep at least twice. He was also slouched down in his chair.

15.Elderly Man-This man is definitely the oldest juror, he occasionally uses the headphones to listen to the proceedings that Jodie's Auntie uses.
I called him "Captain" He has a very intense gaze. It's hard to describe but he gives off a stubborn and no bs vibe. Maybe ex military or something?

16.Maureen-Red haired, glasses (the red might be too red to be a natural ginger) If I had to guess one Mormon on the jury, it would be her.
I called her The Secretary. She took a lot of notes and had a "polished" look to her. She had her whole body turned facing Jodi. I barely saw her look at JM. She was the only one that really made me feel nervous at all.

17.Pony Tail-Young girl, pony tail, plain, pony tail and sweats.
I called her frumpy lady. Not in a rude way... it's just the word that came to mind. Very plain. She took a lot of notes.

18.The Artist-Bald, attractive, glasses, 50's-60's, large build, holds his notebook on a binder as if he's going to sketch. He looks around the gallery a lot. I thought we met eyes a couple of times, but who knows, that room is so huge!
This guy also had a very intense gaze. He took some notes. He rubbed his face and tapped his fingers to his lips a lot. He wasn't the only one doing stuff like that, but I'll get into that in my notes.

Ignore the names I threw in there. We should stick with Anita's. I just thought it would be interesting to give different peoples views on them. More to come!

Hi Katiecoollady,
First of all, I agree with what you said about yourself. Your positive "glow" is so strong I can feel it while I'm reading your posts.
Question... You mentioned Travis' friend Julie gave you a reading. Did she ever say she "read" JA? If so, what did she see or feel? I know she mentioned a darkness around Travis on Dr. Drew, but I don't remember Julie specifically saying she did a reading on JA.
Thank you for all you do!

Thank you! I'm not sure if she's said anything about that specifically but I will ask her today if I see her. :)

Guys I'm gonna just go down there for the pm session. I'll watch the morning online with you guys. I need to edify my laundry in to submission this morning. Plus I'm going out after court with some court watchers so that makes a long day.

I'll be there for alllll the afternoon session though with my trusty notebook. :seeya:

KCL, I just wanted to stick my 2 cents in early...THANK YOU to you and PASA and all the other great people doing the inside reporting on this thread, (of course Kim and all the mods and some of the lawyers, too) but especially to YOU - for all you're doing - you are AWESOME just like everybody says. I'm just amazed at some of the skills, knowledge and connections of WSers and bow to you all...YOU ALL ROCK :rocker:

Just keeping up with you awesome people is a challenge, so I just try to keep up with all your comments and click the THANKS button.

Now, I have to go outside and "de-edify" some snow before the morning session and my day calls me away from the screen.

Keep up all the great work, WSers!!!

Katie, this is my first time to post since last night. I read all your observations and love you for doing this for all of us. I wish we could all be there in unison for the family. When I awoke this morning I realized that for all the answers JA gave, for all the animation she has, for the smart a...comebacks to Juan she had, never once has she ever shown remorse. NEVER. It just isn't human to me. If I had to look in the face of those jurors, or my family, or Travis' family, I would beg for forgiveness and accept whatever punishment was handed to me. Truly demonic.

Truly wish dear Juan would play in closing :please:her interview where she said she would beg for DP if she had done something to Travis...

I think he might start his closing and / or end with that clip. He used the "No jury will ever convict me. Mark my words..." one at the beginning and end of his cross.

I wish we knew what day closing arguments and verdict reading would happen! I really want to go down there again, but have to schedule time off of work to do it. With my luck, I'd guess and end up there for Nurmi's rambling close. :banghead:

I think we're getting close though! I can't imagine the experts will be on the stand for too long. We should be getting to rebuttal soon! :please:

Katiecoolady,

I read both the articles you had posted in the last thread, about your sister, and you and jordy's adventure. I must say, you are one heck of a lady. Thank you so much for all you do for the victims. I think you have really made a difference in a lot of people's lives. That is really something to be proud of! I'm so sorry about your sister. There is so much injustice in our world and you brighten it up with all you do.

I just had to tell you how much you have inspired me. You are a great person. Again, Thank you for all you do, Katiecoolady.

Best,
Kendall

"I need to edify my laundry in to submission this morning. Plus I'm going out after court with some court watchers so that makes a long day"

LOL!!

If you have the chance to pass along .
Question for Beth/anyone

If Jodi was leaving that day to commit suicide, why did she pack her car
with all her belongings to 'move' ?

Thanks for all you do!!!!

Just got to the courthouse. Hoping to get into the afternoon session. I don't want to jinx myself but it's looking better today than yesterday :)

Just bringing my question over from the last thread. :seeya:

For anyone who has been there... does Mr. Martinez look well in person? I was thinking about how much I wanted him to take a good vacation after this but I learned he is also working on another big trial heading his way. He works so hard while the other side has many people working for them including two at the table. I know this is what he does and the man has a passion for it but does he look like he is fit and well? He has my heart and I want nothing but the best for him. When he has to approach with Big/Tall Nurmi and Willmott to fight for something it tugs at my heart as he stands there respectfully, hands behind his back waiting for his turn.

Sorry, long winded question but thanks for reading.

Court Observers,

Has there been any discussions among the group or other gallery attendees regarding the fact that if a person is shot in the head, enters the brain and lodges in the upper cheek then how can that person still be able to speak and take chase?

The M.E. even said he may only have something like an involuntary movement (not sure if those were his exact words) but either way he pretty much said it would incapacitate him.

I don't mean to be critical of any one individual and I may be bias because I am a big fan of Beth K. but Jean C. mentioned that it's good the defense still has time to elaborate that he would be able to chase and speak. I so don't understand her thought...is she watching the same trial?

Also, anyone do the math yet regarding the gas? Her excuse first was she wanted to save money now it was only her first thought but after her plans changed it then became a matter of safety driving an unknown route through the desert. This makes no sense because according to the Ford website states that a 2008 Ford Focus should get 35 miles per gallon. Pasadena to Las Vegas is 420 miles, Pasadena to Barstow, CA being 106 miles. She would have been able to make it to either on a full tank of 12 gallons of gas. She makes no sense. She, meaning her mouth, is her worst enemy and will get her the DP instead of life.

Number one question, however, would most likely not be admissible...Are you really that delusional and believe that you have the jury along with everyone else fooled?

Thank you for taking the time and energy to post notes and answer questions on these threads after your emotionally exhausting days of attending the State vs. JA Trial!

A poster on the last thread had a question/comment that I had been wondering about, too... (I am sorry I don't recall the poster's name at the moment.)

I feel that having the jurors have the opportunity to ask... and have answered... questions for the defendant... is an enlightening experience for the jurors and the Prosecuting Attorney...

However... Do you think there could there be a down-side to this practice, as well, as the answers to personally written questions could create a subconscious "connection" between the jurors and the defendant?...

Thus... possibly making it more difficult to decide on the Death Penalty?

TIA

I don't know how he knew this given the indeterminate time for expert testimony, but Vinnie Politan said the other day that closing arguments would commence on Monday, March 25th.

See Beth is wearing her gift... looks so lovely on her with outfit she is wearing.

I've been lurking for quite awhile, but felt I had to register when I read katiecoollady's remarks about JM seating his friend next to her yesterday. I've been on MyDeathSpace for the last couple of months and I have been suspecting that Mr. Martinez either reads the forums or has someone else reading them for him. So, katiecoolady, I'm saying I think he knows what you've been writing about him.

Careful now, don't distract him while he's working on this important case!
