Ohio troopers say 6 teens killed in SUV crash
WARREN, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says six teens have been killed in a single-vehicle accident in northeast Ohio.

Lt. Anne Ralston says two people survived the crash early Sunday, in which the Honda Passport veered off the left side of a road, hit a guardrail and overturned. Investigators say it came to rest in a pond just south of the city of Warren, about 60 miles east of Cleveland near the Pennsylvania state line.

All the victims were ages 14 to 19. Their names haven't been released.

"..They were driving a vehicle that was reported stolen.

Two of the injured occupants managed to escape by breaking a rear window in the submerged vehicle, emerging from the pond, then running about a quarter mile to a nearby home to call 911, Holt said.."

The two who survived are lucky; and they'll probably have a lot of tough questions ... not to mention the memories which will probably never go away.

Interesting to read that the stolen car report was not filed until after the accident became news. Not saying there's anything fishy going on here, but we've seen such things before. Will wait to form an opinion on that until more info comes out.

My first thought when I heard that was to avoid a lawsuit. So sad to hear of this, accident.

We had one similar to this here in my area few years back. Same thing 6-8 kids skipping school, tire blew out and I think all died except driver. It was an SUV they were even sitting in the very rear area. I think the driver got sent to juv prison, but released early. Some of the deceased parents even requested it. Lots of law suits on that one also, mainly against the maker of the tires. Can't remember how it all come out in the end. I think there are still flowers markers on side of interstate where it happened.

I think everywhere has a big car accident that sticks out for taking the lives of several young adults.

This is the one for me: http://mydeathspace.com/article/201...ne_survivor_in_a_crash_that_killed_six_people

In that one, it was the SUV that was drifting across the yellow line. The 16 year old driver for some reason tried to get by on the other side, but the drifting SUV must have tried to correct, and thus the accident.

She wasn't charged btw.

Fox8News (Cleveland) is reporting that 3 of the deceased died from drowning. The driver didn't have a valid driver's license, and probably never did. One of the relatives interviewed said the kids had snuck out, and were trying to get back home before any adults noticed they were gone.

That's odd. The reporter in this story said that one of the survivors had just been picked up by his friends:

After you view this video, there is a chance to view the raw interview.

Six teens killed in one car accident is really tragic. I cannot imagine what their families are going through.
