Family and friends of a woman who disappeared three days ago from Oakland gathered for a vigil Sunday in the neighborhood where she was last seen.

Erica Maskaleris was last spotted Thursday morning as she was jogging down a sidewalk at 34th and Telegraph streets. More than 100 people gathered in that same area for a vigil in her honor.

"She's been gone too long. It frightens me," Torres said. "She left with just her ID, her bank card and her phone."

A surveillance camera from the bakery across the street captured video of Maskaleris running by at 7 a.m. Thursday and no one has seen her since.

"Time is of the essence, this person is not missin

I sure hope this one comes home safe and healthy. The situation doesn't look good but I hope a miracle will happen in this case. I am praying for a good outcome.

Just curious, is it realistic to consider someone would jog from Oakland to San Fran...???

I read a post by someone in Erica's 'circle' - their post (from yesterday - sat.) said they have reason to believe she was headed to San Fran...???...

There are no pedestrians allowed on the Bay Bridge, so if she was headed to SF she would have either taken BART, a bus or a ferry.

I wonder if there has been any activity on her phone?

Is it close to the anniversary of her H's passing? Has she expressed any negative thoughts (wanting to get away/disappear, etc)?

oops, sorry, banned link.. anyway, the anniversary was last month, and it's clear that Erica has a great deal of support from her church

Erica Maskaleris was recorded on video just after 7 a.m. Thursday in the 3400 block of Telegraph Avenue, by a merchant's surveillance camera, friends said. Maskaleris, who is part-owner of an IT consulting company, was wearing jogging attire when she was last seen.
Family and friends said it was out of character for her not to contact anyone and of particular concern is that Maskaleris was scheduled to fly to Texas that night to visit a brother. She did not take the flight and the brother has since flown to Oakland.
Maskaleris is operations manager at GeekoSystems, a computer consultation company based in Oakland that she started with her late husband in 2009.
Friend Mary Lim-Lampe said Maskaleris lost her husband to cancer last year and even though she had gone through a "lot of hard stuff she was not distraught or depressed lately. She was excited about her trip to see her brother."

Maskaleris often runs in the morning, Lopez said. Sometimes she takes the bus or drives to Lake Merritt and runs there, he said.
Relatives, friends and volunteers passed out fliers with Maskaleris' picture Monday at the MacArthur BART Station, at bus stops and street corners.
Maskaleris never returned Thursday to the home she shares with another nephew, Patrick Lopez. Concern deepened when she failed to make a flight Friday morning to see her brother in Texas.
Maskaleris owns GeekoSystems, an Oakland computer service and repair company.
"Initially, we thought that it might have been just, kind of, she was running away to get away from something, but we now know that is not the case," Courtney Lopez said. He would not elaborate, saying Oakland police had asked him not to.
Police have not commented on the case.
"We have reason to believe she's still alive and well and she's still out there," Lopez said

NBC Bay Area obtained a copy of that video, which shows Maskaleris power walking by the shop at 8:09 a.m. She is wearing gray leggings and a black headband.

Gloria Torres, Maskaleris' mother, is worried. She traveled Fresno to help in the search. She said her daughter owns an Information Technology company and did a computer search recently on San Francisco parks. What's also odd is that Maskaleris was supposed to have flown to Texas on March 7 to visit a brother, which she never did. He came to Oakland instead.

Thank you. I asked because sometimes anniversaries can lead to a depression that wasn't there before or wasn't noticed.

With the info posted re: her scheduled travel, I doubt where my thoughts were going is the case, though. Good thing.

Hopefully there is more video in the area that gives a better direction of travel.

Has it been mentioned, does she have a car?

OK, very confused. The flyer on the MP FB page states that the video captured her on Thurs. morning, but she has been missing since Wed. Ummm???
