Tony Barrett Allegedly Kills Wife, Asks News Station To Post Message On Facebook (Huffington Post/AP)
SEATTLE -- A man who told a TV newsroom that he had killed his wife and asked the station to post that message on Facebook was arrested Thursday after a high-speed chase, authorities said.

Sara Barrett, 42, was found dead from "homicidal violence" about 6 a.m. Thursday at a Tacoma motel, Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.

The discovery came just hours after Tony Barrett, 41, of Puyallup was arrested in the chase that reached 100 mph from Tacoma to Gig Harbor, where police and state troopers stopped his car with spike strips.

On Wednesday night, the caller told KOMO, "I just killed my wife ... I want you to put it on your Facebook," the station reported.

Barrett had called the station because he didn't have a Facebook page and wanted the station to post the message, Troyer said. The caller did not say where the woman could be found.

This is a sad case, especially for her son, looks like he was very close with his mom, lots of comments back and forth of their Facebooks

I really have trouble with what I bolded below like after 5 years is up it is ok to have hostile contact!

Tony Barrett served one day in jail and two years of supervision from 2008 to February 2010, according to state Department of Corrections spokeswoman Judi Feliciano. A judge ordered him not to have any “hostile contact” with Sara Barrett for five years. The order expired Feb. 25.

He should have been in prison for the previous murder attempts and threats. Since they have children I won't say what I really think about him.

Spanaway man who called TV station after killing wife gets 26 years

He pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and eluding police, The News Tribune of Tacoma reported. Changing his plea go guilty, Barrett told the court he “just snapped,” the newspaper said.

Sara Barrett, 42, filed for divorce in early March, and her husband was aware of the filing, Pierce County prosecutor Mark Lindquist said.

According to Lindquist, Barrett arrived at his wife’s workplace in DuPont on March 13 and the two left together in a van. Surveillance video shows the two checking into a Tacoma motel later.
