Two people were killed and at least three people were seriously injured Saturday morning when a charter bus carrying a women's lacrosse team crashed near Carlisle, Pa.

The Seton Hall University team was on its way to an NCAA-II match in Millersville University, Pa., when the crash happened at about 9 a.m., according to school spokeswoman Kary Coleman. The Catholic school is in Greensburg, Pa.

The accident in central Pennsylvania marked the third crash involving a college sports team since Feb. 27.

The three people who were [seriously] injured were flown by helicopter to Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa., according to hospital spokeswoman Danielle Ran. One person died after arriving at the hospital, she said.......more at link.....

I read earlier that bus driver was dead at the scene...
 
The 61 yr old driver and the 30 yr old pregnant head coach have been identified as the 2 deceased individuals.

Rest in Peace. I pray for comfort for all of the family members and students impacted by this tragedy.

CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — A road trip by a college women's lacrosse team came to a horrifying end Saturday when the team bus veered off the Pennsylvania Turnpike and crashed into a tree, killing a pregnant coach, her unborn child, and the driver, and injuring numerous others, authorities said.

Seton Hill University team players and coaches were among the 23 people aboard when the bus crashed just before 9 a.m. No other vehicle was involved, and police could not immediately say what caused the accident.

Coach Kristina Quigley, 30, of Greensburg was flown to a hospital but died there of [injuries] she suffered in the crash, Cumberland County authorities said. Quigley was about six-months pregnant and her unborn child did not survive, authorities said. The bus driver, Anthony Guaetta, 61, of Johnstown, died at the scene.............

Quigley, a native of Baltimore, was married and had a young son, Gavin, the school said.

The bus operator, Mlaker Charter & Tours, of Davidsville, Pa., is up to date on its inspections, which include bus and driver safety checks, said Jennifer Kocher, a spokeswoman for the state Public Utility Commission, which regulates bus companies............more

How horrible for her husband and son, and the driver's family. Wonder if he had a medical problem?
 
The bus was carrying students from Seton Hill University located near Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

The fire was at Seton Hall University in New Jersey.
