Bringing my post from the last thread over here:

Does anyone have any ideas/speculation about what Jodi did in the 1 minute 16 seconds between the foot picture and the dragging picture? Theory-wise this is one big fog for me (harhar). I need your thoughts to fill in this blank because I can't figure it out. the best I can come up with is that this is where she dropped the knife and screamed. Yes, I think she did this, but I don't think it was a "oh my god what did I just do" scream. I think it was a stress release/adrenaline-fueled scream.

Maybe she took this time to catch her breath and figure out what to do next. I dunno.

I lost my detailed post about Jodi's explanation for why she bought the third gas can and returned it an hour later :(

Would hypnosis help? I KNEW I should be coping them somewhere for safe keeping!!

Why does ANYONE believe ANYTHING that this self-serving psychopath says?

Only Jodi knows for sure..One thing I am sure of is that she planned to drop him in the shower, but he fought for his life. It would have been a lot cleaner of a crime if Trav didn't fight back. She ended up having a lot more evidence to deal with than she'd planned for and then panicked/left. I like to think that Travis helped 'catch' her by fighting for his life.

Did you see this?

Under: RELEVANT FACTS, first page, second paragraph:

"On March 8, 2013, The State disclosed an e-mail sent to them from a representative from Tesoro. The contents of this e-mail indicate that the Tesoro conducted a records check of purchases made at their Salt Lake City location and the results indicate that all three purchases were for gasoline. The records that support this claim have not been disclosed."

ETA: credit goes to JusticeJunkie for this!!! :)

Not as crucial, but she *massively* flubbed her answer about the car charger, too. I believe it was a juror question, something like, "If you were so worried about being stranded in the desert that you borrowed gas cans, why didn't you make sure you had a wall charger with you if you lost your car charger?"

Caught her completely flat-footed. She said some nonsense that "Travis" didn't have the right type of charger... it was bad. Straight up bullpuckey (sp?) :)

I have a question. Does the state have to disclose their rebuttal witness list to the defense?

I remember the gist of it, I'm just tired and not feeling like recreating it, but ...

She says the reason she bought a third gas can in Salinas, after already having two extra cans from Darryl, was because she wanted to fill up all these gas cans in other states to save money. Then she went to Starbucks next door to Walmart, and immediately after Starbucks returned the third gas can because "the math" no longer made sense as her "original idea" to "fill up on gas and that kind of thing." All of these gas can transactions took place within an hour's time, or however long it takes her to order a strawberry frap ... all before she "got her nails done" in the Salinas salon.

That makes no sense - nothing had changed between the time she purchased it and the time she supposedly returned it. Not to mention the fact that after she supposedly returned the third gas can for cash and no receipt - she subsequently made THREE distinct gas purchases at the same gas station at the same time - not once, but on two separate occasions, Pasadena ARCO and SLC Tesoro.

Here's where this testimony starts:

I have a question. Does the state have to disclose their rebuttal witness list to the defense?

I don't know, but they submitted a supplemental to their witness list - adding Amanda Webb, a rep from Wal-Mart and Chelsey Young, a rep from Tesoro. :).

BOOM.

I also noticed today when I was rewatching Juan's cross examination, that he asked her if she made up a lie about the car charger, and she said, "yes".

To me, the dead phone for 20 hours while she was secretly murdering Travis is about the most compelling premeditation evidence there is -- other that the "stolen" .25 auto from her home a couple days before she set out on her murder trip

Yes! We have been celebrating that all day. :D

Thank You! :)

Yes, the State does have to disclose their rebuttal witnesses. Impeachment evidence and witnesses are a different matter, however, because that evidence cannot always be disclosed in advance.
