The distraught mother of a missing 27-year-old Regina woman fears for her daughter’s life.

“I believe she’s in trouble,” said Brenda Cruickshank, whose daughter Kimberley Cruickshank was last seen in Regina Saturday afternoon.

“I’m scared to death. I mean this just doesn’t happen to people. You don’t think it’s ever going to happen to you,” she said sobbing.

The Regina Police Service says friends and family last talked to Kimberley Ann Cruickshank Friday at approximately 3 p.m. via phone, and she was last seen Saturday at around 2 p.m. by a neighbour.

Cruickshank is described as Caucasian, five-foot-one, 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

REGINA — The fact Kimberly Cruickshank’s two dogs Willy and Johnny were found alone at home without water or food is what really concerns her sister, Kristen Cruickshank.

“They were her babies,” Kristen says.

“It’s just not like her. They’d either have a babysitter or they’d be by her side.”

Kristen says her sister had fallen in with a “bad crowd” over the past couple of years, but had been trying hard to turn her life around.

“She’s been doing really well over the past three months and we’d become really close,” Kristen says.

“She’s very outgoing, very strong, with a heart of gold.”

The sisters had been talking each day on the phone or Skype, which is why Kristen became so concerned when her sister’s phone suddenly stopped ringing.

"We have had a few people saying they have seen her but we just pass that information onto the police and they deal with it," she said.

They don't know if any of the tips have actually helped.

"They can't tell us really the progress they are making. They don't want to jeapordize the investigation. We just have to keep strong and stay positive," Kristen said.

For a mother who doesn't know where her daughter is, Brenda said that it is tough to not know the investigation's prjgogress.

"It makes you feel kind of empty when nothing happens. It's a worry with every single day that goes by and there is no word on anything," Brenda said.

"I realize the police can't share anything with us but at the same time, like Kristen said, that is so frustrating. We would really like to have some kind of affirmation that something is going in the right direction and they are just making even a little bit of progress."

“We talked about what she had for supper, about her going to work. There was no distress, she was happy,” said Kristen.

After the family filed a missing person report on March 26, police went into Kim’s east end home and found her two beloved dogs locked in a bedroom without food or water. That was an indicator of foul play for Brenda.
