La Plata County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to search for a 13-year-old Four Corners boy missing since Monday.

Dylan Redwine was reported missing Monday afternoon by his father, Mark Redwine, who lives in Vallecito, about 22 miles northeast of Durango.
Dylan is described as 13 years old, standing 5 feet tall and weighing 105 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black Nike shirt, black basketball nylon shorts, black Jordan tennis shoes and a two tone blue and white Duke Blue Devils baseball hat.

Anyone who may have information on Dylan’s whereabouts are asked to contact La Plata County Sheriff’s Office Investigators Dan Patterson (970-382-7015) or Tom Cowing (970-382-7045). People can also call the hotline for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE LOST (1-800-843-5678).

Please continue here. Please remember TOS, the guidelines for this case and please treat differing opinions respectfully.

Additional Notes:

A little clarification here. I will copy these "rule posts" and put them in the first or second posts of the thread for reference.

Information that came out on the Dr. Phil show may be discussed, but not the edited, rumored portions. What this means is that "history" that was brought up, may be discussed as long as it is linked to Dr. Phil.

We are not going back to visit old "he said/she said" stuff that happened around the time of the divorce. But... if it was brought up on Dr. Phil, where everybody had a chance to refute the charge or defend themselves, then it will be allowed with the Dr. Phil link.

Scanner thread info regarding searches may be linked up with brief comments about the info that the poster thinks is important.

Salem

Hey everybody - I just removed several posts discussing things that are OFF THE TABLE. We are on zero tolerance here - but I'm not going to TO everybody at this point, because it looked like you got yourselves back on track. Thank you for that, it is appreciated.

You may discuss Dr. Phil - BUT NOT THE RUMORED, EDITED PORTIONS.
You may not call MR an alcoholic or mentally disturbed, because we don't have facts supporting that (only rumors and opinions).
You may not accuse MR. You may speculate and/or theorize.
You may not attack our verified posters. If you disagree with them, that's fine. Move past their posts. If you have an honest question or need for clarification, you may ask for it RESPECTFULLY. If the verified poster chooses NOT TO RESPOND that's OKAY. Just like you, if they don't want to respond to a post, they don't have to.
And the discussion of what happened way back when before Dylan moved to Colorado Springs is OFF THE TABLE.

All other rules can be found right here: The Rules - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

As always, if you have a question, please pm a mod and don't derail the thread.

Thanks!

Salem

Salem has already explained but I'm going to mention it too so y'all know it's important.

There will be no discussion about the information on the radio show for now. This comes down from the owners of Websleuths. We'll update you guys after we get updated on this issue.

I feel so sorry for Dylan's family...every holiday has to be so hard...

WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Members of the FBI evidence response team searched the home of a missing 10-year-old Westminster girl Tuesday.

"According to 7NEWS reporter Amanda Kost, Jessica Ridgeway's family left their home just after noon in a police escort.

Not more than 10 minutes later, the FBI set up a mobile crime scene lab, put on protective clothing and entered Jessica's home.

It was not immediately clear what the agents would have been looking for in the home. Sources tell 7NEWS such searches are routine in missing children cases"

Not wanting to go into a discussion of the case, but this shows that a search warrant for the last place a child was known to be located is routine and not indicative of guilt or other criminal information/evidence. Jessica missing was enough. Dylan missing was enough.

BBM.., I didn't see where they said they got a search warrant. All it said was it was routine. For all we (general) know Jessica's mom said to go ahead and go in. MR let LE go in and do a search as well. Then 10 days later they showed up with a warrant. There is a reason for that. IMO

At that point in the investigation they did not know if the crime scene would be found in the home or not. As far as they knew, someone in the family MIGHT have been involved. Myabe the warrant said as much.

I do agree with you. And the same hold true for MR's home.

I couldn't find the direct reference to a search warrant for Jessica's home, but I remember there being one. The article says that the Jessica's family was escorted out as the crime scene van set up. It supports my recollection that there was a search warrant too.

Thanks findDylan. Do you have any idea what the plans are when the ice melts? Has LE said they will search the lake? In the past they have seemed to discount it.
Is the search group coming back to search it, any idea?

I do not believe LE will be searching again. I personally believe they don't have the funds for it. Elaine and family are getting their own divers that will have, from what I understand, ROV's. The dive team is supposed to awesome. They are just waiting until the ice breaks up enough to safely put in boats.

I'm not sure if Wendy and her team will be back. Right now they need to get the lake searched.

The divers will be there for a while. They want to make sure the lake is searched good.

Thanks for your response findDylan. It seems to me with the FBI involved that they would have funds for a more thourough search of the lake, but who knows. It is sad to me that family and public have to fund these kind of searches.

Hi everyone, I am finally caught up and over my illness.. Glad to be back... Let's find Dylan.

You would think so. But even that first search wasn't a full search. IMO, they didn't dive deep enough. I understand that their divers couldn't go down further. It is sad that families have to fund the searches like this.

Even though Bender basically discounted the dogs and said something about a brush (tree), Elaine has to make 100% sure. I, and no one in the family, can say that all 5 dogs were wrong.

We hope Dylan isn't down there, but with out searching really well, Elaine would never know.
