Jo Jo Dullard was 21 years of age at the time of her disappearance. At the time that she disappeared she was making her way from Dublin back home to Callan in Co Kilkenny. She made a phonecall from a phonebox in Moone Co Kildare. A short time later a woman answering Jo Jo's description was seen leaning in the back door of a dark coloured Toyota Carina type car.

There were further sightings of a woman similar to Jo Jo in Castledermot, Co. Kildare at around midnight. The driver or occupants of this Toyota Carina type car have never been traced. That was the last that anyone has heard from her.

When she never reached her destination, her family became concerned and reported her missing to the Gardai.

Black shoulder length hair, last seen wearing black jeans, black jacket, white top and black shoes.

Despite an extensive investigation by the Gardai and widespread publicity at the time, Jo Jo has never been found. It is a mystery as to what happened to Jo Jo. But someone out there does know the answer and ultimately they will have to answer. It has been reported that the last sighting of JoJo on the night she disappeared was in Castledermot. The Crime in Mind investigative team believe that Moone was the critical location providing the best insight as to why JoJo was abducted, and more importantly who did it….

Jojo Dullard was in Dublin to collect her final social welfare cheque from the post office in Harold’s Cross before returning home to Kilkenny to start a new life after studying to be a beautician in the capital. She missed the last bus to Kilkenny and chose to take a bus to Naas instead. Her plan was to hitch from Naas to Callan thereafter. Once in Naas, Jojo was still over 100 km from her hometown of Callan. She took two lifts getting to Kilcullen and then on to Moone, Co. Kildare. (Moone is approximately 40km from Naas)

She was dropped off at a phone box in Moone where she called her friend Mary Cullinane to tell her friend of her progress. Jojo cut the conversation short when she said she saw a car stopping. This was the last confirmed communication with Jojo prior to her disappearance – at 11.37pm. At about midnight, a young woman fitting Jojo’s description was seen leaning in a car window of a Toyota Carina-type car in Castledermot in Co. Kildare. (Castledermot is approximately 7.5km from Moone)

Sister of missing woman JoJo Dullard dies

A woman who spent over two decades searching for her missing sister has died.

Mary Phelan spent 22 years trying to find information surrounding the disappearance of JoJo Dullard.

Ms Dullard was 21 when she went missing in 1995.

Ms Phelan (67) died at her home in Cuffesgrange, Co Kilkenny after a short illness.

She is survived by her husband Martin, a son, daughter - as well as sisters, grandchildren and other relatives.

She is to be laid to rest on Monday morning at the Church of the Holy Cross in Cuffesgrange.

JoJo Dullard ‘met her death through violent means’, gardaí conclude

JoJo Dullard, the 21-year-old Kilkenny woman who disappeared without trace 25 years ago, is dead and “met her death through violent means,” gardaí have concluded.

The disappearance of Ms Dullard, who was last seen in Moone, Co Kildare, is now being treated as a murder investigation with cold case detectives issuing a renewed appeal for information, including from those who may have given false statements in the past.

The classification of the case as a murder investigation comes about as a result of a review by the Garda’s Serious Crime Review Team (SCRT) which began in February.

Detectives, led by Detective Superintendent Desmond McTiernan, conducted an independent review of the case files in Ms Dullard’s disappearance.

A major part of their work was a “victimology and proof of life” analysis. This process allowed them to reasonably determine Ms Dullard is no longer alive and that she did not met her death through suicide, Det Supt McTiernan said.

“We can’t just upgrade to murder just on a gut feeling. We have to have a reasonable rationale that would show why we are categorising it as murder. The work that has gone into classifying it as that is substantial.”

He said that having carried out this work, gardaí are “quite satisfied that Jo Jo is dead and met her death through violent means.”

Ms Dullard enjoyed life, had plans for the future and was excited for those plans, he said.

“We are satisfied that now that JoJo came to harm in Moone and we are classifying this investigation as a murder,” said Kildare Superintendent Martin Walker.

For years, the disappearance of Jo Jo Dullard was classed as a missing person investigation, however after 25 years her disappearance has been upgraded to a murder investiagation, as Gardaí are now "satisfied that serious harm came to [her] on or about the night of 8th November 1995".

No person has ever been brought to justice for the murder of Jo Jo, but Gardaí, her friends, family and loved ones have never given up hope on finding out what happened to her.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone that met, saw, or has any information in relation to the murder of Josephine after 11.37pm on the night of the 9th November 1995 who has not spoken to Gardaí to please come forward.

A new appeal aims to trigger memories which may have bee long-forgotten but which could lead to Jo Jo's killer being brought to justice.

My heart goes out to Jo Jo's family.

I wonder if LE has a POI in mind, someone who might be responsible for multiple disappearances and if so, whether he is still living. What a tragedy he has not been caught.

The annual remembrance gathering for missing Kilkenny woman, JoJo Dullard will be held on Sunday, November 9th.

The annual gathering will take place at the missing persons' monument in Castle Park.

Fr Willie Purcell, a family friend who, with the Kilkenny Gospel Choir, will lead the gathering for Ms Dullard said: "It’s important to keep JoJo’s memory alive in our hearts and our prayers.”

Just watching CBS DRAMA and the Psychic Private Eyes segment is covering the case. Must have been done about 2016 as sister is in it.

What happened Jo Jo and other women who went missing within five years, including Newbridge woman Deirdre Jacob, in what’s become known as Ireland’s Vanishing Triangle, is now being examined by a new series on Sky Ireland titled ‘Six Silent Killings’

I seem to recall reading that the family believe the person responsible was someone local, but not LM.

I watched the second part of the 'vanishing triangle' series on Sky Documentary last night.That souterrain and surrounding area really needs to be checked out by the authorities.
