This woman is a new addition to NAMPN:

    Janice Chai Hsi Lo
    http://www.nampn.org/cases/lo_janice_chai_hsi.html

As is often the case with L.A. County UID's the NamUs casefile is pretty scant.

But she is the right age, is Asian, and went missing a little less than 4 years prior.

And West Covina is right at the foot of San Gabriel Canyon Road (Hwy 39). That would be the closest unpopulated place to dump a body if you were in West Covina.

They finally published the NamUs casefile that I created for Janice Chai Hsi Lo

    https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/19972/0

But as of yet, they don't have any identifiers on her.

Have you submitted Ms. Janice Chai Hsi Lo for this UID?

According to NamUs there are dentals for Janice Lo.

I just talked to Daniel Machian to follow up on this case, and two others.

He didn't have Janice Chai Hsi Lo's name in his file, so I gave him her name and NamUs UP#. He sounded interested, and indicated that he would look into it.

It looks like NAMPN has the wrong Date LKA for Janice.

    http://www.nampn.org/cases/lo_janice_chai_hsi.html

She was LKA on 12-Nov-1996. They have it as 12-Nov-2001. It appears that they incorrectly took it from the following 12-Nov-2001 article commemorating the 5-year anniversary of her disappearance

    http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/gene...still-unsolved

So if this UID is Janice, she would have been missing 9 years when found. That is still not implausible, as this is only a partial skull.

Dentals are now available for both so I suppose that makes Janice Chai Hsi Lo a rule-out?
    https://identifyus.org/en/cases/3081
    all on one page: https://identifyus.org/en/cases/full_report/3081

I was searching Janice Chai Hsi Lo regarding another UID and found this thread. I sent Janice in as a potential match for this UID (potential post-mortem image warning, or could be computer-generated):

    NamUs UP # 8962 https://identifyus.org/en/cases/8962

    ME/C Case Number: C98-8289 (A-104-98)
    Spartanburg County, South Carolina
30 to 40 year old Asian Female
    Date found May 13, 1998 12:05

Both cases have dentals so it should be easy for Janice to be added to the rule-outs to narrow things down. The distance and time of death are negatives and the only thing I was going on were the left cheeks that both seem to jut out quite a bit.
