Toddler Left in Car For Over 8 Hours
TAMPA, FL -
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that at approximately 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, a 911 call was received from a parent who said they discovered their child in their vehicle still buckled in his car seat.
Initial information from investigators indicates that the family had been visiting with relatives and returned home early Tuesday morning at about 4:00 a.m. Investigators said that the father and mother both assumed the other had taken the child out of the car seat.
The family said it is common for them to keep late hours and for the child to sleep into the afternoon. Investigators say the family has 4 children ages 8, 7, 3 and 2.
When checking on the child, investigators say the parents discovered him missing. They then realized that neither had brought the child in from the vehicle. Investigators say, the parents then located the child still strapped in his car seat. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to the home and transported the child to Florida Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The investigation into this incident continues.
Wouldn't they have also seen the child at some point in time? Since they got there at 4 AM and had no idea the 2yr old was in the car till 12 PM. Hopefully the do a full investigation on this family.
