Some stuff on the little man's life:

(scroll down the page to read about him)

"Silverman has worked with gifted children for 40 years. She said Brandenn Bremmer is one of the nicest kids she's ever known, a credit to his upbringing.

"He's a very special young man," she said. "He's not a nerd. He's not a showoff. He's very socially poised and he treats people very well.

"He's in wonderful emotional shape."

So what's next for the wonder kid?"

Ten-year-old boy will be Colorado State U. freshman next spring

Rocky Mountain Collegian (Colorado State U.)

(U-WIRE) - Colorado State University will have one of the youngest high school graduates enrolled in the freshman class second semester. Brandenn Bremmer, a 10-year-old from Venango, Neb., graduated from an independent study high school program through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this past June with a 3.7 GPA. He finished his junior and senior years in seven months by putting in 12-hour days, six days a week. Bremmer, who was home-schooled through high school, finished preschool, kindergarten and first grade by the age of three. According to his mother, Bremmer at first will take only one or two classes to get used to the classroom setting.

His poor parents! They couldn't have

....for abusing thier child and treating him like a posession, an academic performing "circus freak" as it were..

This child should have been allowed to take accelerated classes in things that interested him, while still being able to interact with peers his own age...I would have had him at his regular chool, for part of the day (maybe for the "specials", like art, gym, etc), and then taking accelerated classes for the other half. Also, he should have been in a non-academic setting like on a sports team or in Scouts, etc. with kids his own age...

Can you imaging the pressure on this poor little boy to be "perfect", and for what?? ...so daddy and mommy can say they have a perfect, gifted child...??? How sick is that...no consideration for this poor child's soul whatsoever...

We have freaks like this across the street. The parents homeschool their gifted children, and have them taking a variety of music classes. They are forced to paractice their instruments multiple hours a day. These three girls are not allowed to play outside in the winter, are not allowed to play with boys at all, and cannot get their clothes dirty. (Needless to say, they think my hockey playing children are hoodlums!!)

I am all for education, and I work with my kids every day, even during the summer. Hoowever, I also have them in school, sports, and in musical situations with their peers, so they have a normal social life...

Sorry to vent, but these parents should really be assessing what they did to their child...

IMO, these types of situations are just a "fancier" form of child abuse..

I don't like to jump to conclusions, but this statement makes me wonder if he wasn't the victim of child abuse ...

"He finished his junior and senior years in seven months by putting in 12-hour days, six days a week."

Even if this young man wanted to work at this kindof pace at 10 years old, it was the parents' responsibility to make sure he didn't.

My oldest has a very high IQ and is in gifted classes, I did let him skip a grade and I stress how important education is, but to have a child studying 12 hours a day for six days a week is just plain crazy. I am careful not to put to much pressure on him to be "perfect." I can imagine what the kid must have felt like, trying to live up to expectations that could not be met. The kid graduated 7 yrs ahead of schedule, excelled in music and everything else that they made him do, whay more did they want from him?

I feel so bad for the family and I have NO DOUBTS at all that they will question their choices they made for him for as long as they live.... sadly.... it'll haunt them.

Prayers to them, I cannot imagine the hell they're feeling right now.

Did he have friends his age and normal social activities? I have never liked the idea of a 10-year-old going to college. No matter how bright you are, you wouldn't fit in too well. Do you suppose someone picked on him?

Alot of times "gifted" children have an extremely long attention span and enjoying pursuing interests and hobbies very intensely at their own pace. This actually conflicts with being "pushed" by parents or teachers to do more and more, graduate early, etc. I wonder if he was very anxious on the inside, but always sweet on the outside. It's a very sad story and makes me mad.
