    Similar to Margie Dabney case

    This is not good.
Nights have been quite chilly and she sounds ill-equipped to survive these nights and Roosevelt Island.
    Hope they find her soon.

This reminds me of the mysterious Margie Dabney case, which had a bad ending. http://www.star-telegram.com/2008/10...n-missing.html

Kong was last seen wearing a long purple and brown dress with a flower design. She was wearing sandals and was carrying a tan sweater or jacket and a black purse.
Police describe Mrs. Kong as a Hispanic female from Barbados with fair/light skin tone. She is about 5'3" in height, 130 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair.

The Dogs tracked to Roosevelt Island but didn't track her leaving there.

My guess is that they have located her...

DH was just driving home from work and passed Gravelly Point north of the airport, along the river/trail. He said it's closed off and there are many LE there, with lights, etc.

Here is what I saw when I searched, after DH called me a moment ago:

The search for Kong expanded Monday to Gravelly Point in an area adjacent to the water just off Mt. Vernon bike trail.

Roosevelt Island? That's quite a ways away from the airport for an 83-yr-old woman.

ETA - I checked your link and it says she was going towards Roosevelt Island, so I think they mean in that direction (i.e., north from the airport instead of south). I don't think she could've made it to Roosevelt Island. It's about 5 miles on foot.

ETA again - I may stand corrected (if this article is correct). I don't think she could walk from Nat'l Airport to Roosevelt Island and back to Gravelly Point, without it taking all weekend and someone noticing that she needed help. Over the weekend, it was wonderful and the trail was full of families and others who were biking, talking, jogging (we live along the trail and it was very busy). So I'm puzzled:

Search dogs tracked the scent of Victoria Kong to Roosevelt Island Sunday afternoon, where crews searched for Kong by boat and foot. They resumed their search Monday as soon as there was enough daylight.

Unfortunately, it seems like they did in fact find her. So sad.

U.S. Park Police found a body in a wooded area near Gravelly Point Monday afternoon, but they have not identified it and can’t say whether it’s Victoria Kong.

I feel so bad for Victoria and her family. They paid for wheelchair assistance and didn't get it. I hope they get a good lawyer.

They paid for a wheelchair assistant to escort Kong to baggage claim Friday, but she never arrived.
