Harmony2 I LOVE the title of this thread

A theory: I've read statements about friends and family of Travis saying they thought Jodi wasn't "good for him." Instead of killing Travis, would she have possibly tried to harm them- essentially "silence her critics". I think Ryan Burns dodged a bullet when Jodi was charged. I honestly feel he, along with Travis' friends and family, would have felt her wrath for daring to criticize her (Ryan Burnes testimony, per say). Chris and Sky Hughes tried to help Travis see the light. I think they realized she wasn't good for him, but also that he was in potential danger. Just my thoughts.

Am I missing anything, or did I get the gist of it? Feel free to add anything. :twocents:

Adding another thing- I think she would have hurt anyone who threatened her "happiness". I think the Hughes (I think they were the ones who said it) were right about not wanting her around the children.

So, as I was saying...I'm not really up to date with the threads, so I'm not sure who Kovanna is, but I can't help noticing her name being a wee little bit like donOVAN (kOVANna ) Coincidence?

Well friends I will be back later, I have 1/2 day of work today and that means 10am for me as I start at 6am. I will check in later as to see if any reason is given to what happened yesterday.

"The prosecutor is responsible for presenting evidence of aggravating circumstances. Admissibility of such evidence is governed by the rules of evidence. Evidence of mitigating circumstances may be produced either by the defense or the State regardless of its admissibility under the rules of evidence."

So apparently, because it's a capital case, far more leeway is given to the defense in order to preserve the defendent's life. Anyone have any thoughts as to what evidence each, P vs. D, can/may bring to the table? TIA ~

I think someone had an incredibly witty post on the aggravation thread that read like this: (paraphrase)

Mom: JA gave me a birthday card in 1996.

Dad:

Grandmother: She always used to color me the most beautiful pictures.

what a very aptly named thread!

My thoughts on the interview, the suicide watch, etc. I actually watched Dr. Drew last night, something I do not normally do. I was shocked to find myself in agreement.

I think her attorneys would have strongly advised her NOT to give that "just after" interview.

I think she did so anyway for teh following reasons.

a) It's STILL all about her. She had to steal the thunder from Travis, even now, after the guilty verdict. She got to continue to trash Travis even as his family was trying to absorb the verdict and enjoy a small moment of victory. Hateful woman.

b) Things are very out of her control right now, she has just been found guilty of murder. She re exerted control in the only way she could by dong the above (a))

c) in the interview she talks about her preference to DP rather than LWOP or a long prison sentence. Again, trying to re exert some control and have a say in her sentencing. Making HER wants and wishes known.

d) I do wonder if JA is having a serious meltdown. (aw - poor lil thang) I think the lack of control and the jury's failure to see things her way has thrown her into a tailspin. She is full of rage, as she usually is when people don't fall in line with what JA wants. I think she may be experiencing suicidal ideation and when that is not successful she may be exhibiting that rage now, while under watch in the psych ward.

As to court being cancelled yesterday. I wonder if that had something to do with that little interview stunt she pulled. I cannot imagine in a million years her attorney knowing about or agreeing to that little number. So either JA did it without their knowledge or they tried to get her NOT to do it and she did it anyways. I wonder if the DT was in the Judge's chambers whining "your honor, we simply cannot control our client, she simply refuses to listen to us at every turn, our hands are tied" etc.

Adding another thing- I think she would have hurt anyone who threatened her "happiness". I think the Hughes (I think they were the ones who said it) were right about not wanting her around the children.

I, think too, if the Hughes expressed this to Travis that they did not want Jodi around the children and he told Jodi about it, it would explain why Jodi is so adamant about Travis being a pedophile. She is using Travis to get back at them by saying, "And you didn't want me around your children?"

Anyone else think that Jodi is fearful that the family will read portions of her letter to them where she praises Travis. I do not think her attorneys would abandon her now and especially, JW. Again, Jodi is lying to her family. Can't believe they would buy that, again. Let's hope the doctors put Jodi on some drugs to calm her down and after a couple of days she will be regulated enough to sit there without making a scene.

I watched a little more of the Fox post-verdict interview. *shiver* That is one ice water-veined murderer.

When she talked about praying for the jury, I think that she meant that she mentally submitted her wish list. She didn't mean that she was praying on their behalf. She was praying that God would give her jurors she wanted. It seems like her idea of spirituality is mostly about getting what she wants.

This is nearly impossible for the Defense to now present something in the Aggravation phase. Their client was convicted of 1st Degree Premeditated Murder (doesn't get worse than that)

AND she is sticking to her fabricated story that she an innocent woman who was beaten and almost killed a few times and she is 100% innocent and should go free (Oddly they never argued that on her side, they just tried to keep her off death row) If I were innocent and truly a victim of DV I'd be saying SCREW LWOP? get me OUT! That S.O.B. beat me to within an inch of my life 4 times and a half (half being my bent finger) I want to leave this jail right now!

Um, but no, they went jabbering for 4 months about why she rents white cars, and where the floor mats are isn't that funny, they didn't put them in her new rental and gosh, her power went out as she entered Arizona like something out of star trek, miraculously came back in Utah god love em, those Utahians have great cell towers.

So now um don't put me to death because I am innocent is all she can argue? Who the heck cares that she helped a little old lady across the street in 1991 when she was at the mall, or that she fed a stray kitten (before she strangled it) ok kidding.

YOU are innocent or you are not. She better get up there and the only thing she can say is YOU are all wrong about him, he is a killer not me!

Then they will give her the death penalty because she is a cold blooded interview giving murderer.

Uggghhh. Along with the usual prayers you fine people offer up each day for justice and the Alexanders, can you throw one in today for my allergies to clear up?

since everyone who was in the courtroom when this 'incident' happened has been told to zip it or else, it sounds like she did something they saw or heard.
somebody here posted----and i'm not trying to start a rumor----that she refused to enter the courtroom. like i said, i don't know if that's true but it sounds like something she'd pull. so maybe she was back there yelling and the people in the courtroom heard her, and what she said.
follow that up with a trip to chambers, where i'm thinking the witch told JSS she wants to fire her DT.

after all, this conviction is all THEIR fault---not HERS. so on to an evaluation to see if she's competent.

that's my theory anyway, and i don't know anything more than the rest of us----just sounds like the petulant, narcissistic brat we know she is.

Carried over from previous thread:

Let us look at the RUMORED evidence and what does this tell us?

-Dr. Horn says "Something happened in the courtroom"
-JA Mom says "I hope the jury did not see that"
-TA family has to be escorted by LE when leaving

I dont think it was the bomb threat because why would only TA family be escorted and not JA family then.
Also, JA mom would not care if it was unrelated to her case and she was worried specifically about her jury for JA.
The more I think about it, i do think JA caused some disturbance that directly threatened TA family.

If so, shackle her from this point on and duct tape her mouth. IMO of course.

Hey all ! I have gotten behind on alot of work related and personal stuff with this trial so used yesterday off and on the catch up on my personal life. Can someone fill me in on JA's mom saying ..." I hope the jury did not see that? TYIA

I'm wondering if JA's family statement of 'I hope the jurors didn't hear that' may be referring to the post conviction interview. If so, that may mean that the interview was discussed in the courtroom and maybe her attorneys begging the judge to let them off...JMWATM (just me wondering about this madness).

Her 22 second pause after being asked if she had anything to say to her mom was very telling. Typical JA behavior, feign emotion, turn away, let hair fall over face, use hand to hide face, work up some tears while stalling as she tries to figure out what is the "right" way to answer this question.
